This is an old family recipe that came from my aunt. My other aunt makes it all the time to give as gifts (the notes are hers), and I've made it with my mom too. It's good, and I'd make it again, but next time I'll leave out the slivered almonds - they turned an unappetizing dark color, even thought they tasted good. Becky * Exported from MasterCook * Sunny's Mango Chutney Recipe By :Sunny Hadley Riley Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 14 cups sliced mangoes (not too ripe) 12 cups dark brown sugar 8 small red peppers (seeded & sliced under faucet) 1/2 pound slivered almonds -- optional 1 tablespoon ground cloves 1 tablespoon cinnamon 1 tablespoon nutmeg 1 1/2 cups raisins 1/4 cup mashed garlic 2/3 cup finely chopped fresh ginger root (peel with a spoon) 3 cups apple cider vinegar 6 medium chopped onions 1 tablespoon salt I blanch Mangos for 2 min. in boiling water before I peel them.... Heat and bring to slow boil all ingredients for about 2 hr. & 15 min.. and stir frequently..with wooden spoon or it will stick, covered pot....I double this recipe & I have a huge pot that I use for just chutney! I prep all ingredients in one day and "can " the next day.. It takes me almost all day to can so start early! I have a very large canning pot, holds 7 jars at one time ,Bring full jars to a boil, covered with one inch water, for 20 min. remove the sterilized jars with large tongs and leave on sink till cool ,then tighten tops If they don't "pop" rims weren't clean, I have a large mouth funnel I use to fill jars, also use large metal ladle, for chutney.. leave half inch.. on top and put lids on..Repeat this till all jars are sterilized. I told you it takes me all day ...I also put all jars and tops in my dishwasher before I can.. I put the jars that don't "Pop" in the refrg. & use them for myself. .. My bottle of Tide HE liquid says to fill to line 2 for medium loads. This 2.95 liter bottle will wash 52 loads if filled to line 2. I'm just saying that if Tide was consciously telling you to use double what is really required, they would be much better off telling you to fill to line 1 and then labeling the bottle as able to wash 104 loads. That looks much better on the shelf sitting next to its competitors that only wash half as many loads per bottle. 2.95 liters = 200 tablespoons 200 tablespoons / 52 loads = ~4.0 tbsp/load If I cut that dosage in half, to 2 tbsp, that is not enough to get clothes clean in my 4.0 cuft machine in soft water. Even Persil Megaperls recommends just over 4 tbsp (65 ml) for a medium sized, normally soiled load in soft water. Tide's recommendations are pretty much in line with what's expected - not more, not less. I use the recommended amount of detergent (Tide, Persil, Vaska, etc) but reduce by 50% if washing towels. Towels generate a lot of suds when spun out, and reducing dosage for towels does not negatively impact cleaning since they aren't that dirty to begin with. For 80% of my laundry, however, I follow the dosage instructions on the package without any problems. There is great debate on how much is enough, and certainly water chemistry and load size has a lot to do with this. However, from what I've read, it seems that using too little detergent leads to more problems than if using too much.

Hi ladies, it has been a long time since I was on here but I first told you of the Endocrine Mender I was taking and it did help but never got complete relief so finally went to health dept and saw a ARNP. I told her I thought I had Lichen Sclorsis so she had to do a biopsy to diagnose it. It was painful but it was positive. She gave me a salve (prescription) Clobetasol Propionate. It has saved me. I feel completely normal and have since only a few weeks of using it. If I feel any twinges I put a little on and back to normal. I can not say about intercourse as I don't have a partner to try that :) but I really think I could. I hope you will push to get diagnosed if you are like I was: I could not move without tearing, it burned and/or itched most of the time, was white with what looked like scar tissue . I was miserable and depressed. Please seek help. The med is not very costly and last a long time. Best wishes to you all. P.S. I was depressed cause all I read was there was no cure for Lichen Sclorsis, well this may not be a CURE but sure is a great treatment.I can live with that.

Ooooh! Love the website, Lukkiirish! I most definitely would consider black. My husbands sports paraphernalia has mostly black framing, so that would be perfect. I have to refinish his desk, so maybe a flat black distressed finish would work there. I can always play around with wall color once the trim is finished. And, WOW, Sandy! That is an amazing use of color. It looks great and I love your doors. You have given me a wonderful idea now for our mudroom. I'll be sure to post pictures when I am finished.
