beanpiele, your reeded glass looks really nice! I also am having white cabinets and I think that style of glass would be a good option. Did you put light in your glass cabinets? That is another decision that I need to think of.

Consider glue chip clear textured glass. It comes in various densities.

No I don't have them lit. Maybe should have but it doesn't bother me that they are not. I don't consider them display cabinets but I do keep things in them that look somewhat orderly- i.e. dishes/cups/glasses. Here are a few better pics for you so you can see what they look like with stuff in them.
My cabinet maker surprised me by putting glass shelves in them. I thought they would be wood and wasn't sure about it at first. But the glass he used is very strong and I lined them with a clear shelf liner. So far it's been fine. I guess if I want to change to wood I can.

beanpiele, I like your glass shelves. That is one thing my cabinet builder suggested, and I may do. I am also considering just having the window in the top part of the cabinet door a little bit in the fashion of the included link below. I think I would just have plain clear glass or maybe seeded glass if I did that.

Mags, I did look at some samples of the glue chip but my daughter wasn't as impressed with it as I was. I do like it, and it would do the obscuring that I want if I go with full windows. It looks pretty with the dark wood in your picture.

Jane, this is just one persons opinion, but to me the cabinets with just the little part in glass look totally off-balance.

We used this glass in the bathroom in our previous home. It also wasn't totally obscure, but we always liked it.

sjhockeyfan, do you know the name of the glass you used? One of my great fears is using a glass that screams "bathroom," but that glass looks like it would be nice for either a bathroom or kitchen.

I am including another link to the type of cabinet door I'm considering. Do you think this one looks off-balance? There are so many decisions to make, and I'm a ponderer. It takes a lot of thought before I can make a decision!

Maybe it depends on the upper cab glass size. I did mine like that and don't think it looks odd or off balance at all. I'm right there with you as far as being a ponderer. ;-)

If sj doesn't remember the glass name, could always take photo to a local stained glass place and they can identify for you. You also may be able to get some stained glass suppliers on the net (customer service), to ID the glass from the photo.

Mags, I am glad to hear you say that you did your cabinets that way and they don't look off balance. I actually find myself leaning towards this look, but I don't completely trust my judgment at this point since I may be on overload! It is coming down to the wire though, so I need to decide.

My cabinet maker had quite a few samples and this glass may be among them, but it is hard to tell with a small sample. I liked one in the small sample then happened to notice a picture of a larger window and it gave a completely different feel. The picture sample idea is a good one. Thanks.

Fyi- depending on how the glass is inserted into cab door, glass decision could be put off till later and you could replace at will. Also, my glass uppers don't have the mullions.

I like the first cabinets with windows on the uppers better than the second one. I think the second one has windows too small to really see whatever pretty think is there to be displayed. I do think I'd not put mullion windows in such small windows though.

If you have enough pretties to have some lower cabinets also done with glass, go for it. Maybe just one cabinet.

Can you order your cabinets without glass and then get a few samples that you can then temporarily hang in the cabinet to see what kind of glass you like best before deciding? If so, that's what I'd do.

funkycamper, that's a good idea. I might be able to do that. That would give me a chance to ponder a little longer. :-)
