The mirror and sink are beautiful. I had a deep red windowless powder room for years. It looked really dramatic and photographed well. However, the red made it pretty uncomfortable to actually be in the room. It made a small room feel even smaller than it was. The color wasn't flattering to anyone checking their appearance in the mirror, and as L said, that's important in a powder room! The biggest issue for me was that there is no heat register in my powder room and it's usually chilly -sometimes it's freezing. I found it really disconcerting to be in a red room that was cold. It was such an unsettling contrast. If you stick with the red, do make sure to use adequate lighting, the large art to counter that closed-in feeling, and be sure it's warm in there. :)

It was me.. But, I found enough now. I found it at 3 or 4 different Wal-Mart. Thank You now I just have to get the curtains made by the end of the month.. grace

I think it will look terrible and you must sell me those sinks immediately! Seriously, I have a craftsman-style bungalow and am about to put in copper kitchen counters; already have copper cupboard knobs and the look really works well, especially with deep yellows and Morris greens. I have the original fir trim, so the orange tones are perfect -- this might work a bit differently for you with painted/white trim. Yes, I'd sink the bowls in a bit, more so they don't scream "2007 Vessel" than "I'm Copper", but sitting on top really wouldn't be offensive - that's more an issue of usability and how you think they'd work functionally. Fixtures: my kitchen faucets will most likely be copper, but I'd suggest polished nickel over the satin you're considering. In my experience modern brushed/satin fixtures bring out the gray in nickel but polished finish leaves the warm golden undertone, which would work better with copper. (Plus the polished nickel is vastly more historical, if authenticity is a plus.) Sounds gorgeous! Have you consulted Jane Powell's books?

Thank you so much for all these suggestions! I've looked online at all the colors mentioned here, and they all look delicious... now to have fun with paint chips. I'm in Canada so we don't have Lowe's or Calico Corners but I'm sure I'll find something nice up here. Bubbamommie, I love all the colors in that palette you linked me to. Thanks! I take ages and AGES to make these kinds of decisions, as I like to look at it from every angle (literally, in this case) and consider all the possibilities. That's a conflict with the rest of my family, who will point to one shade and say "That's nice, let's get it." But of course these are the same people sho don't notice that there's a new shelf display in the bathroom :) Cameron and johnatemp, thanks for the compliments on the windows. We love them. It was one of those projects that took a hold of itself and evolved over the course of a year. There is blood, sweat and tears in that room - our teens helped us with so much - knocking out the plaster, removing the bricks, staining and varnishing the wood -- tough work but so rewarding, taught them a lot, and we have a new room that everyone loves.
