All perlite for root rebuild... interesting. If your waiting for grit mix suggest you could also sift some construction sand ( bagged at Home Depot type stores) sizes should be sifted 1/8 - 1/4 inch to be used Also Agway has an item called dry stall and other items that can be used for a good succulent plant mix Zone 5 update for others Cooler temps at night lower 50's - 40's and mid 70's by day... also coloring leaves changing brighter colors soon ....... keeping inside is a good idea until later next spring. It still looks thirsty to me, I would probably continue with the each five day double drink as Josh mentioned but more experienced I would also lean toward every third day once or twice. I wouldn't let it sit in a pool of water in the catch tray. Top leaves are looking better if me I'd trim the bottom weaker three that are most visual in pic. New growth will be smaller and slow until Z-5's next season when the newer JADE fatten up ones grow next late May June July time frame if good sunlight season and outside grown.

And, btw, go easy on watering at first - usual advice is to let cutting to callus first for few days (whenever I have cuttings, I let them sit outside of the soil for few days, even weeks & usually don't water immediately after putting into soil-maybe after few days or a week), then pot into a well draining mix. Watch the area circled on your photo for any sign of 'softness' - just in case you see/feel it, you should immediately take the cutting out, re-cut, callus and pot without watering as already mentioned. listen jed ... your name indicates you are a beginner ... welcome to the gardening world ... but i have to tell you ... you really need some more plants.. so you will quit fixating on this particular one ... lol if it were me ... first... all house plant get a systemic drench of bug killer... cleans the soil .. and cleans the plant.. from the inside out.. summer is the perfect time to do this.. because you can do it outdoors.... i am not for a lot of chemical use.. but house plants.. i want them clean when they come back in the house in fall ... i do not recommend specific chemicals.. that is for you and your local nursery to figure out.. read and follow all instructions COMPLETELY ... second ... after a proper dose .. once the plant is 'clean' ... learn how to propagate it ... as i recall it is pretty easy on this plant ... i am sure google, or one of our friends can tell you how ... that way .. should this one become too much of a problem ... you have one or two more ... which are exactly the same plant ... i would try to propagate 5 ... so with failure rates... you end up with a second.. and have a few for gifts to friends ... plants do NOT live forever ... and sometimes its easier to just cut your losses and move on .... and i wouldn't repot it.. until the babes are on their way .. so if you kill the big one... well .. you have more .... that's what i would do ... good luck on your new hobby .. ken

Sorry, no: are you saying you put rocks down the pot under the mix? If so that's unfortunately a problem as it doesn't help & can actually impede drainage further. I believe the rocks were meant to be put ON TOP of the mix to help hold the plant in place til it settles. Soil too wet? Why wet, did you water it in when planted? One doesn't usually do that for succulents, potting them up DRY & waiting a few days to a wk to water. Allows any cut roots time to heal over a bit before watering.
