I'm not crazy about it but since I have all the pieces done, I'll put it together before I decided if I want to make it bigger.

The nice part of the reveal is for those who aren't caught up. It shows that clue 4 and the 4 pieces of clue 5 are entirely for a pieced border. I wouldn't have made them if I'd known. I prefer plain borders. But if someone knows that ahead and is making a smaller one, you can see how that would be altered.

Glad to see the finished product, though!

I think it is really busy. I'm a bit disappointed in the reveal.I have all the parts done so I will put them together. I'm hoping mine will be a bit calmer because I didn't go as scrappy with my fabrics.
I haven't had time to work on mine except to lay out one block. I finished a robe for DH that was supposed to be for Christmas. One week late isn't too bad is it? lol

It is a bit busy for me too, but my cousin was here today and I showed her my first block and she fell in love with it. So it might just end up being her christmas present next year. I had decided to try to make quilts for those in my family that love the ones they already have. This particular cousin already has two of my quilts. Last year's mystery, celtic solstice stays on her couch at all times. :)

I'm pretty happy! I like the more muted colors I used. I caught up today with everything except the pieced border pieces; now that I've seen it I may skip those.

Your's looks very nice, Kate! I've seen a few neutrals that others have made that look nice, too.

Most are more scrappy than what I prefer, and then there are others who have replaced their center block with a solid. I'm still undecided about mine, but I might just sew it together to 'get er done' and give it to charity. Will be interesting to see the full quilts as they get posted and how different each one is. :-)

Hmmm...it's not my favorite, either. But it does remind me of light reflecting off a lake.

I love her pieced borders, though. I keep thinking I should use more pieced borders.

I am using all batiks and while it is scrappy, they are all close in color. Of course, I am still on clue 1 but think I will like it.

I'm not in love with the design. I think Kate's will look nice in the softer, controlled color collection she chose.
Seeing Bonnie's quilts in person hurt my head when I took her workshop and attended her lecture. She is a whirlwind of energy & scrappy fabrics and I truly admire her work.
I am anxious to see everyone's results.

I've been sewing off and on all day but still have a sewing table full of pieces! I suspect once I start joining the blocks it will go fast. Hopefully, pictures tomorrow.

Still not sure which color I want to use for the cornerstones.

Still not sure if I want to do the pieced border but the idea is growing on me.

I finally picked up some yellow so I could start on this mystery...it's no longer a mystery and I'm glad I didn't start.
I like K8's, perhaps it's the calmer colors. I'll save my scraps for another project.

Yikes! My seam ripper and I have become very attached today! I finally went ahead and sewed the blocks together, even adding sashings on one. It looked ok but something just seemed off so I left it up on the wall and just kept looking at it every so often. Around midnight last night, it finally hit me.......sigh. The four corner components of the block are positioned the wrong way. Instead of the black square pointing inward toward the center, the yellow block is. And, yes, I'm changing them, all 12 blocks! Dumb, dumb, dumb!

I considered doing this one, the color combination was intriguing, but I'm glad I waited. I think it's crazy pretty and clever with so much motion in it, but it's just too busy for me and way too busy for my husband, he'd claim dizziness, LOL.

Oh, Sharon. What a thing to realize right before going to bed, my mind wouldn't be able to get over that enough to calm down!

I still have it on the wall and will probably get started with the assembly today. I'm mulling over making the center a solid color instead of the four patch and will stare at the options before hitting the machine. With all those pieces already made, it would be such a waste to put it away in a box without at least making the top. I hope I like it better assembled. It's just so busy.

I solved my problem by putting an aqua square in the center instead of that 4 patch. I know the BH fan club is going to put out a hit on me but I'll change my name or something. To me, it looks better. I may add a second plain border in Aqua outside the pieced border. Not sure till I see size. Might add more blocks and make it a king size.

It looks good, Linda, and some of the others have done that, too. I would have but didn't have the right shades of aqua. And, I put yellow instead of the aqua cornerstone, too. This has been very 'enlightening' to say the least. lol

Linda, I like the aqua centers in your blocks. It calms the block. I didn't have enough aqua left to do that with mine and I had the four patches made so I used them.
I did not buy any fabric to make this quilt top. I did buy some of the bicycle fabric that someone had shown, to use on the back. I didn't get enough for the entire back. I plan to piece it with some yellow fabric with the same print as my aqua fabric. Part of the thrill of making this was the fact that the top is entirely from my stash.

This is really really busy for me....almost too scrappy for my liking, but, I did it. Think I'm quitting after putting 9 blocks together....have 6 together now with the sashing. I made 12 but will do something else with the rest of them.

I have 6 blocks put together so have another 6 to go. Working on the sashing too but haven't totally decided which fabric to use for the cornerstones. Auditioning my choices. Now that I've used up my vacation days, I'm back to just finding a few minutes to sew in the evenings so it will take a while to finish.

(Sure wish I could figure out how to hide a sewing machine in my office at work! Do you think anyone would notice the noise of a featherweight???)

I'm enjoying seeing how productive you all are. Your quilts are looking great. I may have to try one of Bonnie's Mystery Quilts some year. It would really be a step into the ether for me. I can't imagine starting something with no idea of the final outcome. I do like to be in control, especially of my quilts. Well, especially of everything, I guess my husband would say. I tell him that some of us are eminently more qualified to be in control than others - that's usually good for an argument. LOL.

I'm spending my days here on Maui shopping, unpacking and organizing. I realize that you have to look at things a bit differently if you are staying for three months. Three weeks is vacationing; three months is living. I hope by this weekend, I will be able to start relaxing a bit and maybe start piecing my lotto blocks.

LOIS....wow three months in Maui! That is awesome....enjoy your Hawaii time, the lotto will be here when you return! ... I'm just sayin...
