Compression shutoff valve leak

Redgale

We bought our house about a year ago and shortly thereafter replaced all the plastic shutoff valves with metal compression fitting quarter-turn angle valves. As usual, a few of them dripped a little at first, but we tightened them up a bit and the leaks stopped. All was well... for about 10 months. Now we've had three of those new valves suddenly start to leak, without us touching them or doing anything to them. We just randomly find stuff soaked under our sinks or a puddle of water on the floor. We don't know why this is happening or what we can do to prevent future out-of-the-blue leaks. Help!

Sidenote: We can't get one of them to stop leaking. We even removed the valve, trimmed back the copper pipe about 1/2", cleaned the pipe, and put on a brand new valve exactly according to instructions. Yet it still drips. WHY?!
