engineered hardwood over radiant heat

I wonder if anyone knows how to remove a small section of engineered hardwood flooring. I need to do that so I can get at the "vapor barrier" which the flooring people put down before they put the floor down. I want to get a sample of that so I can have it analyzed. the floor people insist it has an "R" rating of zero but I'm sceptical since the heat produced by the electric wire seems to be "trapped" under it and the floor never gets over 78 deg. (I've checked it with a thermometer). this is a "floating" floor and yes,the support guy from the manufacturer and myself have determined that all the hardware of the heating system is working fine. (we even tried replacing the thermostat and also switched in the spare sensor which I had installed before the "self-leveller" was poured)
so,anyone know how I can remove some flooring?

tnx,
