ceiling height cabinets? (9 foot ceiling)
Comments (10)If you go to the ceiling with all the cabs you can also create visual interest by choosing which cabs to put glass in and which not to. You can then use some of the non-glass uppers to store trays and platters. How tall are you? I'm 5'8" and can reach the vertical tray storage and the first row platter storage flat-footed, and the 2nd row platters on tiptoe. Since the fridge/pantry cabs aren't recessed back over a countertop like regular uppers they're a lot more accessible. So depending on your height you may be able to reach your over-fridge/pantry uppers without a step stool (unlike regular over-cab uppers which are generally a little higher plus set back)....See MoreNeed advice ASAP on windows & doors for 10 foot ceilings! Comments (28)We are currently building, and we did 6'8" doors on our lower level, which has 10' ceilings. The exterior doors have transoms, which are at a consistent header height with all the windows. We toured MANY homes when we were researching plans and preparing to build. I just couldn't get used to 8' doors. They just didn't look right to me. To each their own I guess!...See More9 Foot Ceiling - stacked cabinets or one tall door?
Comments (22)the old glass cabinet had heavy leaded glass and a very wide door. Yes, now that you say it, I think it's the width that I don't like. It's so much wider than the other cabinets, making it seem like "odd man out". I'm not surprised to hear you say that the plate racks /small drawers were pretty much useless. Interesting. I like to analyze just what it is that I like /don't like....See More9 foot ceilings, 7 foot doors, 6 foot windows. I NEED PICTURES! HELP
Comments (7)Martina Collom Design oh that’s such a relief! Would you mind posting a photo of your home from the inside? I started second guessing it all this morning! I can’t decide if I want to do 6’ windows or 5.75’ windows! So many decisions. We are planning for all of our doors to be 7’, that’s why I might be leaning towards the 5.75’ doors. Because if we do 6’ windows and 7’ doors, our windows are only 1’ off the ground. I think that it may look a little funky. Idk. I’m not too worried about the added cost of safety glass. We are building a small house and so it only adds about $400 to the overall build cost....See Morenanj
