Changed My Mind about How Seeds Should be Planted
Comments (17)I think it will look fabulous and the butterflies should love the mix. They can graze without flying far! Now you can call it the broadcast border. Cameron, try broadcasting a few spider plant (cleome) seeds too; they have self-seeded for me many times. I just collected the white cleome seeds and left some to fall and tossed some around; brought the rest in for insurance. Over the years, I lost them out. I figure because of digging or tilling the beds which I no longer do. Nell, post pictures regardless of how you think it turned out, please. I haven't checked out the bed yet but will later this afternoon. I am out mulching the beds; should I say in and out mulching the beds. We had to have a coffee break....See MoreTell me why I should change my wall color?
Comments (40)"does a house for sale have to look as impersonal as a hotel?"-umm...add to it "spa experience"..)) and a lot about selling a dream..like you can sell a dream, buy a dream, trade a dream.. HouseVixen I love some of the rooms! but they're rooms that are currently not in this house..since with such level of attention to decor, I'd presume other rooms correlate to one in question..there's probably some inner rhythm to everything. You start in one room-you don't finish there. you can't sell a dream. at least not a dream that's worth having lol. you can show yours-or somebody else's as you interpret it. I say-in this case, leave interpretation to others. This room is good enough to not try and wrigle it into something completely else. The curtains will be open anyway-no real estate photographer will leave them shut when shooting. No real estate agent will let them be shut when buyers come. Same with blinds. Not because somebody might dislike curtains but because a) photographer needs more light when shooting interiors and b) it's considered-rightfully so-the buyers should easily see the windows themselves, and what can be seen from them....See MoreCHANGE MY MIND.
Comments (18)I had an 8' stretch of 12" deep base cabinets in my last kitchen and I LOVED them. Every small appliance lived in them and it was so easy to reach in and get the crock pot, blender, toaster, sous vide, etc. I think that is a great use of that wall. On this layout, if you haven't considered this ... why not: 1) increase fridge from 33 to 36" wide. It gives you more choices of fridge to use here. This only works if the fridge you bought has not been delivered and you can change it with the appliance store, though. 2) Are the stove and ovens gas or electric? I would want to put the fridge where the oven/micro is, and put the oven/micro stack where the fridge is. You could move from fridge to sink SO much easier this way. The fridge looks to be counter depth, you would have enough room. In my kitchen I have 45" from fridge cabinet to adjacent island, which is 42" from fridge door to counter edge. It feels like a generous space. It used to be just 36" from fridge cabinet to counter and that was small, but if someone was in the fridge you just asked them to move or walked the other direction. 3) If its electric, can you slide the range toward the window wall by 9-12"? That would give you a nice sized drawer stack between the new fridge location and the cooktop for dishes and utensils - just one step away from the DW (maybe a big step, but still pretty close). Hope this helps - it is how I would change it to suit how I cook. Regardless, you will love those shallow cabinets....See MoreI've Changed My Mind About This...Need Some Expert Pointers
Comments (8)I’ve not worked with polyester fleece (that I know of), but my first question would be is this stuff going to creep when you try to stitch it to the cotton tops? If the answer is yes, I would probably tie the quilt by hand rather than quilt the two layers together sewing on your machine. I’d use 2 or 3 strands of DMC embroidery floss or 1 strand of Sulky 12 wt thread. Depending on the size of your string quilt blocks, I would put a tie in the middle of each block and then a tie in each corner? I’d have to know the blocks size. Or simply put a tie every 4 to 5-inches, no matter where they end up. String scrappy quilts lend themselves to tying.....IMO. And, yes, you could “birth” the quilt back and top after they are sewn together, then tie the two together. Depending on your machine, you may have a stitch setting suitable for tying a quilt together. Teresa...See Morezeebee
