The second mat in teak is from Target and cost $20, which was more than the other bamboo one cost I remember. I do not remember where it is from, but notCB2 I know. I like your ladder shelf idea, something light an airy like that instead of a boxy cabinet. The ladder shelf has harsh angles. There is curvy shelving available too, that still has a Zen feel. This one is from Brocade. Imagine it filled with rolled towels and linen covered storage boxes, instead of the frosted cupcakes they show. (Why cupcakes?) Something like this would fill in the big blank wall near the toilet. The storage cube is from http://www.bobbyberkhome.com . It is a whopping $575 but Brocade Home has a similar one for $160. It does not have the mirror chrome base to give it that light weight look, nor the stud detailing. Maybe you could add that on your own. You could get an aluminum round cake pan for like $7 for the bottom and the little metal studs to glue on the pin points for a couple bucks. Get heavy duty 14 gauge aluminum pans so they have stability. Also check out electrical supply places that sell aluminum rounds. Believe it or not, those towels were from CB2 and I see now that they are no longer available. I was at Marshals yesterday and saw some towels that had rounds instead of rectangulars woven into them. That could be another option. I found those posted just by Googleing 'orange towels' and hit them when they came up in the thumbnails.

Our budget right now is $30k. I am not quite sure how much that’ll get me. I have never undertaken anything like this. This will absolutely be something we take on in stages. This space is what we’d like to tackle first and is the largest. In our kitchen at some point we will replace countertops and in our other bathroom we will swap out the toilet, tub and vanity. Luckily the rest of the house is functional for us. I lack the vision and knowledge that a lot of people on here have of being able to see a functional layout in disaster zones lol. My intuition tells me all these spaces can somehow be rearranged to give us what we need. I’m completely wrong, please help. Im also completely fine and understand if it’s impossible, financially or practically to have it all. I do have a consultation with a designer scheduled for this week (so excited), and I’m praying that she’ll have time to take us on as clients but I got excited and wanted to ask the Houzz community first. How are you going to disguise a TV in order to accomplish a calm spa feel? There are TVs hidden in mirrors, I suppose... I wonder if you can find one that looks like a fireplace when it is not being a TV? You could go to Art.com and find a soothing picture, mount it in a wooden frame that is quite deep, then mount an identical frame made by 1 x 1s to the wall and use a hidden piano hinge to attach the wall frame to the picture frame. Then you mount the TV behind the art and just swing the art open to see the TV. Like how my carpenter hid a safe behind my powder room vanity mirror. Darn, picture is sideways! See, it is behind this mirror. The hinge is on the side facing the corner, but inside, so you can't see it anyways.

No, I don't feel that every wall needs something on it, but of course it depends on the expanse of space. Scale is very important when placing items on a wall, so as not to overwhelm the space or add too much visual clutter. Additionally, the wall art, when used, should be complementary to the bathroom, and most of all, tasteful. I see no reason to put up signs that read "bath" or pictures of bathroom fixtures, etc.. A simple landscape, relative to the surroundings, or a small abstract (dependent upon the style of decor) is usually sufficient. People lacking adequate storage may install floating shelves or similar, upon which glass containers of bath salts, tissues, cotton balls, etc. are placed. I personally don't trust glass in a bathroom (for safety reasons), and don't need more items to clean than absolutely necessary. If you have space for a plant atop your vanity, you might add one for color. If you keep in mind the adage, "less is more", your bath becomes a relaxing space, even if it's not a very large room.
