We bought a Kohler K-819-F62 White freestanding cast iron tub. It is a little more than 2K though. Here is a picture of what it looks like.

In our master bath remodel project, my husband and I had chosen the Bain Ultra FS model; but have since learned that it is not yet certified in our state. We are now considering the Boreal FS model by Oceania Baths. Has anyone had experience with this product? Thank you.

I purchased a free-standing, composite soaking tub from Devon & Devon (D&D) (they have a clawfoot, but I chose a different style). Two advantages of composite over acrylic: it holds the heat, and scratches or stains can be easily "buffed out" with light sand paper. The D&D tub has a satin-like matte finish. I use Windex to clean it. D&D is pricey, but after trying out tubs for months, it was my favorite, and I was willing to wait several more months for delivery. Other brands I considered: Wetstyle (from Canada), Bain Ultra, Toto, Kohler, Duravit, Blu Bathworks, Mti, Hydrosystems, Axor, and T&L. Zucchetti and V&A tubs were tempting - but I didn't like the look of the exposed drain pipe.

Well, the pictures didn't load.. And, disclosure, I don't have a wet room...but I think they're a great way to have a tub and shower in a space that otherwise wouldn't allow for them (if you don't want the shower in the tub). From what I understand, it will feel cold...both because of the size of the space, and also because you will only have a panel....so I would do lots of research on the best heating for that kind of room..
