Working on my 2015 Grow List

I'm almost ready to get my seeds started.
I'd like to narrow this list by a few. Probably a few sweet and maybe a couple of spicy.
Or I'll have to give up some space I wanted for other veggies.
I'm sure some of the peppers are very similar, especially the sweet peppers.

Comments are appreciated on any that you've grown, that I haven't.

I know this is cheap and easy to find at the store, but it's nice to just pick one from the garden when you need it. I may take this one off my list.

Jamaican Hot Chocolate
I grew this one a couple years ago but pods were very small at first frost and tried to overwinter but plant died. Is that normal?
Would you try this one again?

I grew these 2 in 2011 and was not impressed, but to be fair that was an extremely hot summer and nothing did good.

Corno di Toro Rosso *
This pepper did great. Production was good and was able to overwinter, so this year I want to grow again and try the yellow one.

Still working on this.
I've taken off 4 and added 2, so that's a start.
Hope to plant tomorrow.

I would suggest adding Gypsy peppers for the sweet. I will not go without planting them. This will be year 3 I plant them in my garden. They handle the heat better than the bells do for me. They out produced bell by a rate of 10 to 1 both years I planted them. They stay pretty compact for the most part. I had one that grew tall that I tied to the side of a tomato cage. (Note I buy the transplants from Bonnie. Every one of them gave me my $3.58 worth, and then some.)

I only do seeds for the ones I can not get transplants for to save space in my germinating area.

For a mild hot MexiBell did great for me last year. It was highly productive. Some fruits were a bit small in the worst of the heat of summer. Unlike the sweet bell they ripened well with the still glossy skin, and nice crunch when biting into them. When the heat stunted them they were a bit bigger than golf balls. When the heat broke they got up to tennis ball size. (Another from Bonnie.)

The only sweet I am planting from seed this year is California Wonder. It did ok for the start of the season. Once the heat wave broke it gave me 14 nice sized bell peppers that were so tasty. They were great stuffed with rice, ground pork, bacon crumbles, and cheese.

This is my first time posting, but my third year growing peppers. i decided to take the plunge last year and start my own peppers from seed as opposed to buying whatever plants they had at Lowes, and this year I am going all from seed, with the exception of a jalapeno or two. I only have a small grow list since my wife doesn't particularly care for hot peppers, and I couldn't give a fig about sweet peppers, but here it is: Yellow 7 Pot Brain Strain Bhut Jolokia Peruvian White Lightning Habanero (left over seeds of questionable accuracy from last year, so maybe its something else, I guess I'll know in a few months) Orange Habanero (Also seeds from last year, this was supposed to be a jamaican hot chocolate habanero, but definitely turned out to be a plain old orange hab, so that's what I get for ordering from the cheapest seed source on Amazon) Sweet Datil Poblano Sweet Banana Jalapeno

I make my stakes out of 2/4s 10ft long. Cut them to 5ft and rip them down on a table saw. 3/4 by 3/4 in Get 16 stakes out of each. They don't like a3lb mall but using a stake driver ( a 3ft long 3in pipe with a cap on one end] have never had a problem. Just select clear wood . Cheep stakes that are 5ft long and effective. I use strips of old sheets to tie up Better then string will no rub stems.Dont spend 2 bucks a plant just for stakes . I made half my stakes this year out of some 2/10s from behind the neighbors barn .

Last year I grew a lot of hots. This year i want to experiment with milds. The only hots are Carolina Reaper for fruit tree spray Ministry of Agriculture Scotch Bonnet for jerk sauce, and any other uses for hot peppers I need. Poblano types for various uses Tiburon hybrid Caballero hybrid pepper Ancho 211 hybrid Paprika peppers (sweet and hot) I like making my own paprika Feher Ozon Paprika Cece Hungarian White Stuffing Pepper Gabi Hungarian White Hot Pepper Kalocsa V2 Paprika Pepper. Also one from Hungary probably the same pepper called Kalocsai. I'll grow both and see. Paprike Hot Peppers Sibirischer Hauspapri Szeged Hot peppers Italian sweet peppers for various uses Jimmy Nardello Corno di Toro Rosso Pepper New Mexico type chili's to make green chili's and green sauce, and also red sauce.
