Oh folks, tell me it will be okay

My first ever apple tree was planted last spring. It was just a 24" whip and really grew nicely and has several branches. The weather has been way too warm for several days in a row, and now it is acting like it is coming out of dormancy. We will have another month and a half of probable hard freezing temperatures. The main trunk is turning a reddish color and tips are swelling. Should I be worried or will it go back dormant? Thanks everyone!
