Hi, Ive also been having some trouble out of my Adenium Obesum. But as I am looking through some of the suggested caused and cures. I am finding it a little hard to compare since there are a few differences. I purchased my Adenium Obesum about a month ago online. It arrive healthy, about 2.5-3" tall green and healthy. She was obviously grown from seed since she has the infamous fat trunk. I done a little research before purchasing the plant. I got to know it like dry arid conditions, fast draining soil, and PLENTY of sun light. I also read you could train Adenium Obesum to become indoor tolerant. My potting medium is bonsai potting mix, and sand; no course or dead plant material as it is highly susceptible to root rot. Since it has arrive I placed the plant in indirect sunlight but still pretty bright. After about a week or so I noticed a bit of yellowing in a few of the leaves. Come 2 days later it has spread to a few more, a few days later the first yellowing leaves begin to wilt. Then fall off. You get the idea. So now its a month later and I have a most of the original leaves, but a few have fallen off and most haven either yellowed or becoming yellow. I know my water is draining fast, the only thing I can think is light, or the water I am currently using (tap) is not kosher with my Adenium Obesum. Please help, I want to see my little girl thrive. I know Adenium Obesum are such BEAUTIFUL trees, which is why I purchased it to begin with. The situation isnt too dire, but until I get some help I have her placed outside my window in direct sunlight most of the day. Btw I am watering her about once-twice a week. Im still figuring out what she likes as far as water. Remember this is a baby not some of the beauts you guys have posted. Thanks once again, Stefan

hi..i have adenuims also but i also have a bunch of cacti that i am downsizing and am focusing on outside perennials. i can send pictures of what i have and these would give you a jump start if you see anything you want. most of them are small cacti in smaller containers in order to conserve space. i have larger ones as well, all in containers. if you are interested, let me know and i will send some pics along the way. jeff

Hi;- Glad to hear that you like coming to visit the Forum,Welcome! I am amazed with nature and love reading other comments about growing the same plant in different climate zones. My Desert Rose normally sends out flowers before the leaves start to emerge in spring. Adenium's prodigious main trunk and fat stems make it a very highly desired succulent which lends itself to Bonsai culture. In my humble opinion, you have selected the appropriate time to trim the plant. If, for some reason a branch or two is aggressively growing out of line, I will selectively trim hard those branches and no more. In case of a light trim of the entire plant, ie, 1-7 leave nodes, the plant appears to adapt itself well to this method. I would also add, have a spray water bottle ready and immediately generously mist the entirely plant after pruning. This will stop the bleeding and help seal the flesh wound/cut as well. Cuts pieces can be propagated by letting them dry for a few days, aid with rooting hormone and plant in a well drained mix. Pure pumice works quite well for me. Will probably have to be SAE only as I can't think of anything I have that you might like ... unless you want some baby Cananga odorata seedlings? In fact, I think it was you who gave me a white brugmansia? I finally managed to plant it out in winter and it's now covered in creamy white, citrusy-scented blooms at night: heaven! I also have an apricot-coloured one--pretty, but not covered in blooms or beautifully scented like the cream one. I can cut off a piece if you'd like to try striking it.
