Memoirs

Just getting the thread started.I thought we already had a Memoir thread but none came up.

My favorite memoirs that I can think of offhand are:

1. The Journals of Laurel Lee. She was married, mother of two and pregnant when she was diagnosed with, I believe, third stage Hodgkins Disease. Her husband left her. It is an amazing story of faith, courage and adversity.

They are titled:

Walking Through the Fire

Signs of Spring

Mourning into Dancing

Godspeed, Hitching Home

Recently they have been edited and combined into one book called "Tapestry". I believe most of the original are now out of print.

2.The Story of a Soul by Therese of Lisieux

3. The Seven Story Mountain by Thomas Merton

4.Mama Makes Up Her Mind and Sleeping at the Starlight Motel by Bailey White....a real comfort read for me

5.Not Without My Daughter by Betty Mahmoody....again, amazing courage in the face of almost insurmountable odds
