That omitted some of the classics! Capture the Flag: Everyone divides up into two teams at night. Each team has a "flag" -- usually just a shirt or bandana. The terrain is split up into two sides, one for each team. Each side positions their flag -- depending on your rules, either announcing where it is, or hiding it within certain constraints (say, must be roughly eye level, must be hanging from a tree branch, or whatnot). Usually, no "guarding" of flags is allowed (you can't have a person hang out within, say, ten feet of your flag, although they can pass through the area). If a member of the opposite team is on your side of the border and you spot them, you can "tag" them and bring them to your "jail" -- if you can catch them before they flee back to the safety of their side ;). Jail "guarding" is usually subject to the same constraints as flag guarding. If a person is "jail" is tagged by a member of their team, that person and the person they rescued get free passage back to their side. The winning team is the first one to grab the other side's flag and bring it back to their side without being tagged first. ----------------------- Skits: Classic campfire entertainment. Kids come up with skits to perform in front of all of the other kids (often figured out in advance of the trip if you haven't seen many before). These are generally performed with improvised props (camping equipment) or no props at all. Humor is the most common aspect of them, although sometimes pranks are involved. Googling should come up with a huge list of them. -------------- Commandoes: A game of flashlights. There is one base (a circle of arbitrary radius), one person trying to defend it with their flashlight, and everyone else who tries to sneak into it. Anyone who sneaks into it "wins" and gets to defend the base for the next round. The defender "defends" the base by shining the flashlight around, looking for people. If they tag someone with the beam, that person is "hit" and has to go far away and try to sneak up all over again.

LOL and Hugs Raeanne! And now, for the news. Peggy and Dave are really confused. My husband is just as abnormal as I am medically. He did an hour with a recorded blood pressure machine. Leave it to Dave to totally baffle the nurse. His blood pressure readings drop 40 points after his doctor's visit 48 hours previously. Of course he had the entire weekend to get worked up. He also stopped taking 2 brand new medications - we don't know if they were part of the problem or not. He still has a heart scan being booked. His bloodwork has shown enzymes that are present after a heart attack. I am expecting "something" to show up on the scan because of the enzymes. I'm not worried so much anymore as too more curious - how can this be? When we get the results from that we can move forward. But his blood pressure is a huge relief. I too wonder about the pills he was put on. We'll see. Stay tuned for another episode of "We're Not Normal". On a lighter note - went to a charity shop today to purchase jeans. My size 14's are getting too lose so I got a couple of pair of 11-12s (whatever that means today). Out of 5 pair of jeans I liked enough to try on, only 2 fit. One tag said 11-12 but I could have wrapped the zipper area across itself a good 4 inches in totally. And there must be a pattern/industry design problem with that size because I also noticed it's the largest space consumed by one size in the women's jean racks. What a pain in the a$$ trying jeans on. Of course everything fabric related I purchase now from charity goes right into a garbage bag and stays shut until everything goes directly into a sanitizing wash run. Don't care to bring home bed bugs. The Ottawa area stores have posted signs warning people to take precautions because once one item that is infested gets into any recycled clothing store the store is considered infected. Makes sense to me. Every jean that I think would fit and I like, before I take it off the rack to try on, I do the pocket test to make sure the pocket is big enough so my wallet won't pop out. Today's hand testing revealed 3 advil in one pocket - so the jeans were worn, then tossed into a charity bag - unwashed. I even purchase bed sheets and some for quilting - everything gets sanitized. And then some. I spent $12 on 2 pair of good quality jeans. Bargoooon. But I did have fun in there. Got a huge aluminum roasting pan with lid - for a whopping $6.00 - bargooon. $12 on a percale soft/strong queen size sheet set - bargooon. And a few other small items. Bargooooooooooon. Had a lot of fun. Spent an hour in there - could have spent another but hubby happily took off to do the groceries. Came back just as I was getting tired of hunting down jeans and starting to enter....Peggy's Danger Zone.....I was going to start browsing more that today's purpose of going there. Danger, danger I say. I have been known to spend hours in big charity shops. But mentally it was better than a bottle of prozac. So I can retire a couple of pairs of jeans - making a jean bed spread for my niece. My pal who is on a health journey, weight loss all in one is also entering a smaller jean size - she's donating her jeans. There's no going back once the jeans have been cut. Saving the top part to make jean purses for both of us. So that's my Thursday. Still holding around 135. Very, very happy. And Dave is making a stir fry dinner tonight with a ton of veggies. He was on a mission at the store. His cooking is heaven. (And he gets more veggies in his meals this way.) One night a week to let go and enjoy. Have a wonderful evening too! LOL Peggy

Hello everyone! GRETCHEN, HAPPY, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!! So sorry I missed it. I was in Philly for 2 days, and got even further behind here at the office, if that was possible. Today there was another crisis and my director got sick over it. She came out of her VPs office and told me she was dizzy....her SO came to get her. Pressure, deadlines, budgets....what does it all mean in the end, huh? Nothing! After dealing with health issues with me and DH over the last month, nothing here is gonna put me in a tizzy. S#*&(w it!!! LOL Seriously, we think she has the flu, so I'm hoping she's back on board with us soon. Raeanne, you'd pack enough clothes so that you aren't tempted to do a "Girl Gone Wild" tape.....put the bottle down and stay away from those martinis! LOL!! Have fun. Maddie, I miss ya, kiddo. Gotta run; DH has been having a couple of bad days and I need to go home to play Nancy Nurse...he went in for a smaller port out of his back and it's leaking all over the place. The nurse told him it would for about 24-36 hours, but he's just not feeling right about it. I've told him to call them, but he says he does not feel sick or dizzy or hurting.... Patience is a virtue, and I'm trying my best. After driving 3 hours home last night from Philly, taking care of DH, and trying to settle down, I was ready to get into the shower and looked down to find my right ankle was at least 5 times the size of my left ankle. My first reaction? BLOOD CLOT!!!! LOL; I took 2 aspirins, put some ice on it, and raised it up while I slept. It's better, but I must have twisted it somehow. Absolutely no pain, and this has happened at least once before...how looney is that? Gotta run. I wish all of you a great evening! Take care, eat healthy, and NEVER NEVER GIVE UP! Raeanne, I would think that right after the first of the year we should start seriously making plans. Maybe sooner? I guess I would ask Maddie to guide us here because who knows. I can't even remember the exact date! I am sending Kingfisher thoughts your way. LOL Today is my Siamese boys birthday. 12 and 10 years old. Boy time has flown. They are out in the livingroom rolling around in the catnip I got them to celebrate with. I will join them with a glass of wine shortly! I love watching them groove on catnip. I lead such an exciting life!!! The pumpkin festival in Keene, NH is this weekend. Our office carved pumpkins to spell out Equine Journal and it will be displayed on the tower at the top of Main Street about 9 tiers up. Keene is trying to break it's own world's record of 28,000 or so. This year we are going for 30,000! Check out the link below. QOD: My alarm is set for 4am Mon-Fri. and I am usually in bed by 9:30 and 10 is pushing it for me unless I have to. On weekends I try to sleep in which usually ends up being 5:30 or 6!
