Or it could be Amy Benson....she was terrorised by Tom Riddle in the cave that the horcrux was kept - who says she couldn't be a witch?

i think the clue in movie 3 is Hermy, and Rons feelings twords eachother..which is what we find out in book 6...(greenhouse insident!!!).. mayb in book 7 they go out...aww how presious...!!

Who are everybody's favourite characters?

You people have some very interesting ideas, but i find the HP horcrux idea kinna weird...dunno why but it just doesnt make sense...like i get it n all but still..random. My fave character is probs....Sirius but he's dead now so...maybe Luna, Fred,Ron and Ginny. Harry's alright but sometimes he's realy stupid. Hermione kinna same..in a diff way. oh n by the way, jus thought i'd say (refering back to aages ago)im english so no worries other english person, i kina figured u guys are all american. Also i think all the susan bones, amy benson ideas are pretty viable but a bit too far- fetched...n how many of u hav read the Da Vinci code??to those who have..do u remmba nicolas flamel..well, he was a grand master, n cos the PS was written way before the Da Vinci Code i was really suprised that JKR knew about the whole grand master thingy, cos she got Nicolas Flamel's birth dates write n all. I've read the Da Vinci code, but I didnt think it was much of a good book. Thats really cool about the Nicholas Flamel thing, though. Mu-hahaha harry potter is so ahead of the world...

I found it on a forum (sorry, can't remember where) and its by a GENIUS spanish person. i admit, I said none of it, but I did think that the seven tasks was important, and I had a vague idea, but nothing as detailed as this:

"We posted this theory for the first time in October 04, and of course, we developped it even more in the time that came after, though we didn't always post our conclusions here (because I'm lazy, and even more when it comes to write in English). I'm finally updating it in mugglenet... I just hope there isn't a limit of words per post! :S

On the other hand, we included in our theory some things that people from this site suggested, so, if I say 'someone' and you know that that particular 'someone' is you, send me an owl and I'll give you credit for it!

Now, on with the theory. It analizes the seven tasks from 'Through the Trapdoor' (PS/SS), comparing them to the seven books. If you don't question that JKR may have left such a massive clue, then, by all means, proceed to point number one! But if you want to know our reasons to think such a thing, keep reading...

First of all, we must go back intime and see what JKRowling was when she wrote The Philosopher's Stone. Imagine this woman that one day has an idea, not only brilliant, but also of a titanic size. And, must I remind yo what happend to the Titanic?

Seven books are a lot of books, and they need an incredible amount of time and effort to write (as anyone who has ever tried to write something will tell you).

It took Jo four years to write The Philosopher's Stone. Just make the multiplication: in that particular moment, she thought it would take her 24 years to write the whole saga!!! And then, she wonders: "Is it really worth it to dedicate all my life to Harry?". It's easy for us to say 'yes', but for her, from her point of view of someone who barely can pay the bills, who sleeps very little because her baby just won't let her, who's marriage just ended in a bad way, who's going through one of the worst moments in her life... I'm not so sure that 'self-security' and 'optimism' were part of her vocabulary.

Never, even in her wildest dreams, could she have imagined the success that would meet her books. Actually, she probably thought that The Philosopher's Stone had little to no chances to be published. Be realistic: out of Harry Potter and Lady Di's dog hairstilist's wife biography, who had more chances to be published? It pains me to say this, but unfortunately Mrs. Dog usually wins. And, if The Philosopher's Stone was not published, she would have prefered to write another thing instead of Chamber of Secrets, the sequel of an unpublished book.

As she neared the end of the writing process, she got more and more desperate. Another six books? Are you crazy?? You need a very strong will to write (and, honest, writting seven books about the same guy, that's more than...

that was really cool, i got it, i think the mirror of erised might be important. i think the killer could be bill or percy cos percy's a right twat and bill might be a werewolf.Or maybe it might be Ron, n he might get captured or sumin. so theres only one year til the next book comes out.....07/07/07...and its going to be 06/06/06 in two days. I read stuff on the website bout how DD isnt dead. Its quite convincing. But i dunno why the UK n the US versions of HPB are diff at the DD n Malfoy bit. I live in London bdw..how bout you? I think Godric's Hollow could be really important because it was his birthplace or w/e. I think he might find something left fro him by his parents. I found this funny game called "The battle of the annoying little magical brats"(?!) but it was funny. A battle between Harry and Frodo. I think the HP films are sooooo baaaadd!!!! The fourth one was okay..but then they cut half of it out. I dont think daniel radcliffe is a very good Harry Potter. I also think Harry n Ginny are a cuutee cupl n same with Ron n Hermione, n Luna n Neville..i never expected Tonks n Lupin to get togeva.I think that something might happen at Fleur and Bill's wedding. It would be really saad if Harry died, but that's what will probably happen, cos JKR's gonna have to finish it some day. But maybe he might live. Cos of there's an epilouge then she could round it off.And , cos da last word in #7 is scar. I was thinkin in the epilouge it could end with Harry looking at his son or daughter and saying something like:
Harry gazed down at the bundle of blankets shrouding his son/daughter below, his eyes were unwillingly attracted to the unmissable trait from himself, the scar.

i don't think this represents the weasley's because it says two are twins once you taste them, but are different at first sight. Fred and George are both identical and are easily confused, not different at first sight.

also it says that three of them are killers waiting in line. the only two who could be killers are percy and bill, as pointed out by skt 77.

The air was warm and the sun shinning Harry wonderend weather people knew about the events that just took place inside the ministry. His thoughts were broken by Herminoes soft voice.
"Harry" she said

"U ok"?
yeah...lets just go home" herminoe nooded and motioned nevile to help Ron carry harrys wieght.

A moment lter they were back at godric hallow, back where it all started. Back to the place in which they name "the boy who lived" started. Nevil and Ron sat harry on the porch front steps and walked away. Ginny walked over. She like her brother and the rest of the gang was badly beaten , but shee look more beutiful then she ever did. "Harry" she wispered
Harry looked up, "i just want to say that well...." her voiced faded as if she was too scared to speak the words that were on her mind, as if the were as deadly as avada kavinva. Your ending is very interesting, and has an interesting conclusion to it. Although, there are about an infinite amount of ways that Book 7 could end, which makes your ending unlikely. Your ending is very interesting though and brings up a way of ending the story with the word scar, that I have not thought of before.

Does anybody have any ideas on who or what the seven potions represent, or if they represent the horcruxes what do they mean ? Also what do you think will happen at Godric's Hollow?

I, personally, think that at Godric's Hollow harry will find the other important fact about his mother, that J K was talking about and will continue his search for the horcruxes from there.

I am sure that I am wrong, but, what if the potions don't represent anything and we are trying to hard to draw conclusions about them. 7 is the strongest magical number, so, there are probably a lot of different things that the potions could represent. Maybe they don't represent anything and are just there for the trial to get to the sorcerers stone.

So who do you think the two to die will be?

Somewhere I read that Rowling was very surprised with the Prisoner Of Azkaban movie because it gave away a lot of clues about the ending. I don't know what those clues are though.
I don't think she will kill off Harry only because of the prophecy. But I think it will probably be important characters like Hagrid and Snape but not the most important characters such as Harry, Ron and Hermoine.

In previous books J.K. Rowling has not been afraid or hesitant to kill off main characters, and I would not be at all surprised if Ron, or Hermione was to be killed off. She said that people will die in the seventh book. I don't think that she will kill of Harry though.

I am also very curious of the clue in the third film, and what it means will happen.

bumblebeez, I hadn't thought of Hagrid, but that would make sense. I REALLY hope Harry, Ron and Hermione don't die. My guess is that Neville will do something spectacular and unexpected and he will be one of the two killed off in the last book. I'm thinking (hmmmm, hoping?) Snape might be on that list, too. But Hagrid would much more significant than Neville or Snape ... Poor Harry! All his father figures keep getting killed off.

supposedly J.K. said in an interview this week that she has always meant this to be a 7 book series, she's not writing any more, and one sure way to prevent someone else from writing unauthorized additions is to kill off the two main characters-Harry and Voldemort.

Well I am new at all of this, but I really hope that JKR dose not kill Harry off.

I would not at all be surprised if Rowling killed off Harry and Voldemort, even if it does have a bad lesson to the story. Try hard to overcome your problems and you will still end up losing.

Also, it would not surpise me if she kills off Ron or Hermione because, she has not hesitated to kill of previous characters and will do it again.

I wouldn't be surprised if these things happen but, i really hope that they don't happen and hope that Harry, Ron, and Hermione will all survive.

hey heres somethin about the last horcrux. dd said that the only item of gryffindors is the sword right? wrong. the sorting hat said in one of his songs that 'gryffindor wiped me off his head' or somethin like that. doesnt that mean that the sorting hat is gryffindors? plus isnt the sorting hat somethin that voldmort would just luv to put a horcrux into? but how u ask? well remember when voldmort came to dd askin for a job at hogwarts and dd asked him why did he even bother to come bcuz he knew that he wouldnt give him a job. then it said that volmort reached for his wand. i think that the real reason he came was so that he could use occlumency to put a horcrux in the sorting hat, bcuz powerful wizards dont need a wand to use spells (as shown in the 3rd movie. maybe thats the clue jk was talkin about). maybe im wrong but its a pretty interesting theory. and doesnt it seem like something that jk would do? making harry have to destroy the sorting hat and having to create a new one at the end with new ideas? wat do yall think?

On J K Rowlings website it says that the sorting hat is not a horcrux, under the rumors section. It would have been smart of Voldemort, though, to make the Sorting hat a horcrux.

Ok now in Harry land voldemort has ultimatley made harry suffer his whole life, first he took away harrys parents then he continuously took away the one thing harry longed for, someone to care for him. Soo that just gives harry even more of a reason to want to get ride of him and he would do anything possibly to rid voldemort of the one thing he longs for, eternal life. The propehecy only said that neither can live while the other survives that only says that ultimatley one would have to kill the other it leaves plenty of room for interpretation. i think that jk did this soo she could kill them both off.

Rowling said two will die, but I don't think she was referring Voldemort in that body count -- of course he has to die or the books are meaningless and the story is left open for future writers to mess with (something she said she didn't want). But interestingly enough, she said she originally intended three to die. Here's the quote from the article:

"One character got a reprieve. But I have to say two die that I didn't intend to die," she said.

If she's all the way to book seven and has changed her mind about who will die, then my money is on Harry surviving. As I've thought about this (because it is perfectly logical that Harry should die when he destroys Voldemort), I've come to the conclusion that she'll have no future readers if they know Harry bites the dust in book seven.

What's the point of his struggle through 7 books if he dies in the end? Who would want to invest their emotional energy in books that end like that? Today's readers will buy the 7th book, but will future readers want to bother if Harry's ultimate fate is death? And think of the hue and cry if Harry does die. She said already she doesn't want any hate mail, imagine her mailbox this time next year if she does kill Harry off. No matter how tempting it might be, I don't think she'll do it. Just raising the possibility provides more than enough excitement and anticipation for the last book and the upcoming movies.

So right now my money is on Hagrid (big emotional death, another father figure gone), and/or Lupin, Neville, or Malfoy.

Perhaps it's Harry who is the character who 'gets a reprieve'? Perhaps Harry might "die" and be brought back to life, somehow connected to Dumbledor's phoenix? That's classic mythology/religion, the hero dies to defeat evil and is brought back to life.

Just my own two cents ... it's amazing how much speculation these books have spawned and how much time my my kids, their friends, and (obviously) I spend thinking about them!

I agree with Sheriz6. Harry will not die if only for the reason that no one will want to pick up a Harry Potter book ever again--any of them--if it ends in such a crushing manner.

And for the adults who may be reading this, you may know the mystery writer Elizabeth George, author of the Inspector Lynley books. Recently, she killed off a very major character and her own website was flooded with angry mail. They have removed the forum part of the website-- my guess is because of the great unpopularity of George killing off this character. Lots of outraged readers dissing George on her own website.

My money is on Harry living but other than that, I don't have a clue. JKR has kept the world guessing all thru this journey and I think she has more than a few surprises left up her sleeve.

I think that all of you are forgeting something about all the headmasters. How come other headmasters are in paintings. Is it possible that Dumbledore is in a painting and that could possibly help harry. As for him not dying i think you all need to except that he did die. Snape i believe is a good guy and Dumbledore told snape to kill him so Snape could help Harry later on. The last book is going to be very interesting and i think JK has something in mind that none of you will figure out.

Kru2009, I've also wondered if Harry will be able to talk to Dumbledore in his picture. DD was sleeping at the end of the last book, but what might he have to say when he wakes up? Also, Dumbledore's brother works at the Hogsmeade Tavern (I think that's the correct name) and he might have a message or two to pass along to Harry, as well.

Lets face it, if J K rowling wants to kill harry, she would have been planning it for a long time and a lot of people that have hope she wont kill harry isn't going to stop her. Even though she said that one person got a reprieve, somebody or something as major as harry wouldn't change throughout the books. She has been planning these books for a very long time and has already written the last chapter, so what happens with harry is already done.

Having just said that, I really hope she doesn't kill off harry or ron or hermione.

that wouldn't be very cool if she did kill someone. it would suck a lot. but i don't think that dumbledore is dead. i know that a lot of people do, but just think....why would she kill the only person that can help harry? i think that snape is on dumbledore's side. and he helped fake the death so that voldemort can't keep harry from learning anything from him.

I agree with sheriz6 and the article -- I think it would be poor judgement on Rowling's part to kill off Harry. It would be surprising for someone who has been able to keep up the level of writing that Rowling has all the way through these 6 books so far to make a mistake like that.

Hi I'm new to the forum but I've been dying to post what I think is coming to book 7... also forgive me if this has already been mentioned :).

1.) I truely believe Snape is still on the good side for a couple of reasons:
a.) I think Snape was in love with Lily. It's kind of hinted in book 5 when Harry was in Snape's memory and Lily came to Snape's rescue. I think the only reason he said that nasty remark to her was because he was embarassed that he just showed HER and the other kids on the lawn his dirty undies and was made a fool by his competion. This is probably why James (had a hunch about Snape's feelings for her) and Siris (100% loyalty to James) hated Snape so much and why Snape hates James/Siris. Also, he probably hates Harry so much (not because his father saved his life and was jerk to him) because Harry is a walking/talking reminder Lily picked JAMES (in every book it remarks how Harry looks exactly like James. So everytime Snape looks at Harry he sees Lily in Harry's eyes and her decsion for a husband in Harry's other physical characteristics).
b.) You have to admit, JKR was seriously setting up for everyone to hate Snape. I mean it was TOO built up to make everyone think he's on the dark side. Just seems like her to give us a twist. Plus, in EVERY book so far Snape has been Harry's number one suspect except book 6 when he's hunches are seemed to be confirmed... but are they?
c.) It seems to me like DD was begging Snape in book 6 to kill him like he promised (if you remember Hagrid caught them fighting about something Snape didn't want to do).
d.) JKR seems to be building Snape up for this great... whatever its called where he can shut out his thoughts and feelings from others... and I bet he can also do that against Vold. Why else is he the PERFECT spy? Its not secret Snape is a very powerful wizard and amazing abilities.
e.) Last reason (there might be more but this is all I can think of =P) Snape did two things on the Hogwarts lawn... first he prevented Harry from performing the unforgivable curse. Well, you might say "well duh Snape didn't want to die or be tortured" but that comes to the second thing Snape did on the lawn. He didn't kill Harry. Some think that this might be because Voldamort had other plans for Harry and was ordered to not harm him, but I don't think that was it at all. Vold got what he needed from Harry in the 4th book and he couldn't get what he need in the 5th book (which he also needed Harry for). I honestly think Snape was keeping Harry from harm and keeping him from going to Azkaban.

2.) R.A.B. I have two ideas who this is. The first one is Siris' brother. I think it mentioned that his initials are Relmus A. Black (sorry if I botched his first name... but it starts with a "R" anyways). If you remember from book 5, a heavy lockit was found by Siris and he pitched it in the bag AND Remus was killed by the Dark Lord for wanting to back out... but they never got into the details...

First off, let me say this: Harry is not a horcrux! Why would Voldemort try to pass a piece of his soul to the baby he was trying to destroy? And if its true that there are only 7 of them, and Tom Riddle was asking about them years before the prophecy, do you really think he wouldnt have transfered his soul to the 7 objects sooner? Harry is the one person with the power to destroy the dark lord, so why would He turn Harry to a horcrux?

Secondly, I dont think Harry or Neville will become teachers. JKR says that someone you dont expect becomes a teacher. Personally I could see Harry, Ron or Hermione as teachers, so that leaves them out. I think the most unlikely person to become a teacher will be Draco.

Dumbledore will admit to Harry through his portrait that Snape killed him at his order. To try and convince Voldemort that Snape is really commited to him. After all, he was being spied on by wormtail in HBP in my opinion.
And he will die trying to protect Harry, as will wormtail, who, according Dumbledore is in Harry's debt for sparing his life.

I think that the 2 characters that die are going to be Aunt Petunia, and Snape. More will die of course, but those are the 2 that i feel will die.

Fawkes will return is the last book, as Harry's new pet. He showed such loyalty to Dumbledore through out the books, that there is no other person in the world he would trust as much as Harry.

Not sure how many, if any of these are true, but they are my opinions. Cant wait to read the last book and find out what happens
