That would be akin to winter sowing, to it should work. Just mind the temps on sunny days and the moisture levels.

Oh my gosh!!! I just got back from Ocean State Job Lot with one just like the one pictured except no casters. I bought 6 of them!! I plan on starting seeds myself 1st time ever and dont have room for a permanent GH so I thought these would serve the purpose. I can bring them into the house at night. I tried to post a question on one of the greenhouse forums but after I previewed and clicked submit it disappeared and now I wont have my questions answered:( Maybe someone here can help... I need to know what the outside daytime minimum temp should be for me to be able to put my plants inside the GH? I want to put them out after they have grown their 2nd or 3rd set of true leaves but dont know what a safe temp would be. Also what is the max temp for the GH? Any help would be much appreciated!!

Bmoser I appreciate the feeback but I have 1 layer of 6 mil film and last year I did not like the light levels in my wood framed greenhouse. Some tomato flats had short plants in the middle and larger plants at the end. My greenhouse has an east/west angle to capture the most sun from late winter early spring when I need it the most. I just finished painting all the wood white but I don't understand how the light levels are not where I want them to be when others seem to have 2 or 3 layers on their greenhouses and get plenty of light. Don't get me wrong the light levels are not horrible. I would say they are 15% less overall than what I want. I am hoping white ground cover over my brick floor and white wood over non painted wood is going to make the difference. If I switch to polycarbonate panels though I definitely don't want to be risking using a pool cover and damage them since they are so expensive.

As can be seen from the article, the link to which is included below, the effect is dramatic over the absorption range 300 to 800 nm with maxima in red (600 to 700nm) and far-red (700 to 800nm). This suggests to me that plants still need a fair amount of red light to encourage stem growth.
