Silene with purple pollen

Collecting seeds beside local farm tracks, I found what I thought was Silene alba. Now I look more closely, I see it has deep purple pollen. None of my books shows any Silene with purple pollen, even those with pink flowers.

The flower is a bit smaller than the other Silene alba I found, but it's all white. The calyx doesn't have any hint of pink, either.

Is it a different species or some sort of hybrid?

I have red campion in my garden, some of which has dark pollen. I thought it was black, but it might well be dark purple.

I definitely had a mixture of those with dark pollen and others with a lighter centre. I'll inspect them more closely next year.

I don't remember seeing white campion with dark pollen, but I believe Silene hybridise pretty easily.

I'm game for a few seeds of whatever you feel up to giving, Kristi, thank you... I'm going to be low in the seed producing department, myself, this year. If you want to trade for some Lemon Star seeds, I've got some of those. So far, I've only got seeds from Lemon Star... everything else either aborted, or isn't a sure thing yet. And, I only had a few new bulbs this time around. I am hoping, though, that some of last year's bulbs will bloom this spring... then I can do more pollinating. I'm also hoping that next year, I'll be in a position to buy more bulbs from my wish list. Larissa... mergers and acquisitions! LOL! Good one!
