Looks like Eucalyptus gunnii, since this is the most common one there chances are it is. E. archeri is very similar.

Fortunately there isn't any plumbing there. The raised bed it is in has a creeklet running at the foot of the cottage stones so if its roots go down about one foot it will hit water. It really likes water. I measured some branchlets from yesterday to today and it grew 6" yesterday. This tree is beserkly happy. We sponge-painted the house 8 different colors and used metallic car paint, 2 colors, to vein the house like lightning/rain. The veins sparkle and glitter in the sun. We planted Lee's Dark Purple Rhodies all along the house in raised beds, so the trim color is the exact color of the rhody blooms and a bunch of other flowers here. Basically we painted the house to match the jungle the yard will be in a few years, so the house will blend in and "disappear." Hope the foundation will be OK. It's a big concrete slab with a manufactured house on it. There's so much great dirt and water in the yard I'm hoping the roots will seek that out rather than under the foundation. Who knows exactly which Euc it is. Frank the Eucalyptus Man has some doubts whether it's really a subcrenulata. I just want it to be happy. Here's a picture of this Euc May 12 of this spring, just a little baby. It's now way over the roof, have to prime and paint some hooks and bungee it to the eves because it flops over when the sprinkler water weighs it down. Everything's grown so much, roots finally taking hold a bit. Very excited about next spring. Hope this winter is mild and next spring very wet. More rain in the summer sure would be helpful. Lucky Washington State got rain this summer!

Barrie, Like Ian said, just sow and wait. I planted my Cordata in 1996. There is a road lined with 5 of them near town. I sold them to the gardener as 1 gallon specimens just over 4 years ago. You should see how big they are now. They are a very rapid growing tree. Cheers, Joe

Flyleft, that was one day, etched into my memory because my pt Dr Ben Vidgoff died that day and my husband and I got really bad pneumonia and almost died too. There was a lot of ice and snow and ferocious winds. Hasn't been like that since but have had 3 weeks of 11 degrees so we do have hard freezes. I've gotten my Eucalypti from Frank the Eucalyptus Man who lives in McMinneville but is back in Cincinnati for an extended stay helping his mom. Frank supplied Eucs to Pistils and Cistus Nurseries and who knows how many others. You could call Pistils and Cistus and see if they still have Eucs. We were super lucky to meet Frank at Cistus and he very kindly came and saw our crazy yard and has been carefully selecting Eucs from his hardy collection that he thinks will survive our conditions. Lynn wants another Camphora ... Frank come home! We have no inches left to plant anything else. Even the creeklets are stuffed with swamp trees. I wish more and more ppl planted Eucs here that could survive the heat of summer and freezes of winter -- have always loved Eucs, need more broadleaved evergreens around here. A lot of the native plants are starting to die because we no longer get enough rain and the summers are too dry and hot. Plus the developers are willy nilly cutting down anything left standing.
