good houseplants for dark corner

I want a nice, quite big plant for a darkish corner of a north-facing room (not so dark that you can't read in it on a reasonably bright day). My Weeping fig doesn't seem to like it, and while the Dracaena puts up with it stoically, it doesn't actually grow. I know the peace lily will cope, but I really want something bigger. Was thinking of a rubber plant, or swiss cheese plant? Or one of those umbrella papyrussy things?
