Bluespruce is right, it's not 'Blue Sapphire', also not 'Blue Saphir' but 'Blue Safir', it's found as a witches'broom at the Malik Nursery, Czech Republic. Almost everyone has misspeld this name in their collection. Also Picea orientalis Professor Lagner' must be written as 'Professor Langner' Indeed nice selection from Dennis. I'm wondering how his health is now.

Glad you were able to get a sunny day finially. It was sunny but very windy here today. Still I spent the day outside mulching and of course gakking at my flowers. Looks like you (and Whiskey and Bowie) have lots and lots of flowers in your yard in gawk at and they are all so pretty. I see lots of blue with the grape hyacinths and I think I see the regular blue hyacinths there too. Love your garden shots and love your pink daffs.

Pippi- Siberians are really easy once they get established. They don't need any more water than any other plant once they get going. However, most of my garden is heavily mulched and the Sibs just love that, unlike the beardless which I had to do special mini gardens for (no mulch). That one in the picture I put the wrong tag on so I don't know right now what it is. It is a modern one (and large flowered) that I bought two years ago, not Caesers Brother which is a very old variety, that I know for sure. The blue flowers in the backround are catmint, Walkers Low. It is a fantastic perennial that flowers all year long. Plant those Lupines! I just love lupines! thyme- I have about 200 tall bearded but bought most of them only last year so many are new. What records? I just use a plant name tag for each one so I know what it is when I want. Do the same with my daylilies.

The only new picture here is of the strawberry pots. The others are from other times during the past year, some of my favorites I am not yet ready to delete. About four feet tall now, nestled in a south east facing corner and still putting out buds! Today's spray has red stems and bright pink inner petals backed with a pale peach. So pretty! Natalie, For the most part the garden is closed down for a few weeks, with lots of bare ground showing. I am counting down the six weeks to daffodil time! : ) Marilyn, Do try a citrus tree! My next door neighbor has a Meyer lemon in a pot, so cute with a dozen or so lemons hanging on a two foot tree! In a pot you could move it to shelter as needed. My rancher friends tell me there are a number of new oranges on the market. Maybe one of them would work well for you.
