Can anyone advise on the best way to keep this aster through the winter and/or increase it ? I've had it for years but I'm down to my last plant and I really don't want to lose it. It's growing in fairly heavy but well-drained and fertile soil in a mixed border in partial shade. My father grew it in similar conditions for decades without ever dividing or replanting it. (In case anyone doesn't know it, it's the 'florist's' aster, with very small white flowers and leaves on tall stems. It is one of the latest to flower and looks great with the sun shining through the stems)
