That is interesting, Creekweb, I am told they take 10 years to fruit. That is not a problem. As i want to grow a Bonsai, a 6 foot tall plant would not do. We never see the fruit for sale here in the UK, so I cannot try saving seed, and I doubt if it would ever produce fruit over here, even in a greenhouse. I just wanted to grow one for the novelty.

The Treehouse is where I get all of my fruit trees. I've been dealing with them since the 1980's when Vivian and Bob ran it. Bob's now gone and Viv has major health problems of her own. Tropical fruit enthusiasts lost two great and knowledgeable people with the loss of these two. I have a large fruited jaboticaba on hold at the nursery where I'll pick it up when visit my house on July 3. I'll also be picking up a large Sweet Heart lychee. If you kn ow anywhere I might buy different varieties of jaboticabo please let me know. I always thought that the Homestead area would be a great place but so far I haven't found any contacts there. On March 23, 2014, I planted a California Hass Avocado Pit by inserting three toothpicks into the pit, and placing the it partially submerged into jar of water. About four weeks later, I placed the pit, which began to sprout roots, into a pot with a mixture of potting soil and soil from my yard. It first sprouted two stems at approximatedly the same time, and it later added a third stem. Does anyone know what is the mathematical probability of this occurring.
