I think shade tolerant is more fitting. Plants bloom more if they have some sunlight. Shade that is created by trees presents a special challenge to the water gardener. Trees produce leaves, twigs, branches, and seeds. If you want to put a pond where there are a lot of trees, you can use a netting to reduce the amount of tree debris that will fall in the pond. Another alternative is to invest in a good pond vacuum and have a regular maintenance schedule to remove leaf debris from the pond. It may be Mentha longifolia var 'Lebanon' see e.g. http://www.rareplants.de/. But it may also be another Mentha sp. or not a Mentha sp. at all. Without further information it is impossible to identify your Lebanese mint.

Joseph, Mint cuttings can be sent with some moist soil in a plastic bag. In my experience this works perfectly well if the transport takes not more than 5-7 days. In many cases priority mail is OK, but always check this with your local post agency. If priority mail takes longer than 7 days, I would recommend sending by express mail. Regards, Janus
