is it deciduous??? best guess:.. something was wrong with this plant in the pot.. perhaps circling or girdled roots.. and it is struggling to get ESTABLISHED.. as fast as the others ... and due to such.. it suffered a worse summer than the others.. it simply could not cope.. short of digging it up.. and finding out whats wrong with the roots.. i doubt any any amount of fert or soil amendments is going to make a difference ... and frankly dumping either on mere speculation.. borders on pollution after a while.. you have to react to a crisis.. not really guess at a solution ... i would wait until late spring to see if it buds out with vigor.. and if not.. i would dig it up and find out why ... but you would probably be better off doing that now .. why wait ... and if its under warranty.. talk to the seller now ... ken

I've never seen one yellowed by too much water - and that includes in places with far higher rainfall (both summer and winter) than anywhere in southern AZ. Can you post a photo? Resin

Thanks again for replying. First thing I'll try and do is get it into a bigger pot. Though finding one is going to be a real issue. I might need to have a barrel sawed in half and have holes cut in the base, because they normally don't make pots this big around here. And yes, Rajasthan is pretty much a desert (the Thar desert), so there is almost no humidity here. Mumbai being near the Arabian sea is very humid. I'll keep you posted about what happens when I've planted it in a bigger pot, though someone suggested the ficus I have which is loosing leaves is showing signs of a sulphur deficiency. Sulphur deficiency is rampant in Indian soils. It wouldn't be a bad idea to supplement with some Sulphur fertiliser, would it? Thanks again. Re-potted my Chinese Evergreen and now the leaves are turning yellow and it seems like the stems are falling to the sides. The leaves that are dying are along the bottom of the stems
