Go for it. My collard, kale, and musturd seeds are still viable after 5 years. My green been are not, My watermelon seeds were 4 years and they came up great. If they don't come up, go buy new seeds

Last year I had so many snaps to transplant and not too much room in the greenhouse. I start them in flats under lights and then transplant them into individual containers and take them to the greenhouse about a week later. I don't open the greenhouse until the weather is fairly warm. Well as I said I had too many snaps for the greenhouse so I planted lots in my south facing flower bed by the house where it was a bit protected and a bit warmer. This was 3 weeks before my last frost day. They grew a bit slower than those in the greenhouse but they thrived and bloomed a week after the greenhouse ones. I plan on doing the same thing this year and saving my greenhouse space for tenderer annuals

If you don't cut the bloom stalks when they are about half "bloomed out" they will not bloom well all summer at all. Snaps are great to use as cut flowers. If you cut them they will put on a great bloom until frost....and about 1/3 of the time will live over the winter. Snaps really are a tender perennial. In my zone I have it happen fairly often......and a heavy covering of leaves after frost makes it more likely they will live. They also self seed very well. They won't come true from seed, but they will be lots of plants. Just remember to dead head the whole stalk before the last of the flowers have faded and you will have continuous bloom. Linda C

Pics would be helpful. Use the software for your camera to resize or some email clients will ask you how big you want to send the file, email to self and resize. Also some free software available online that you can resize with.... your best bet for help is a picture. SCG
