A review of all safety information indicates that current biotech cottons do not pose any different risks to human or animal health than conventional cotton (Gustafson et al., 2001; Nida et al., 1996, 1996a). DNA is considered a generally recognized as safe (GRAS) substance by U.S. FDA and is readily degraded by the human digestive system. Each of the pesticidal proteins introduced into commercialized biotech cottons has been exempted from a tolerance by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which means these proteins are considered safe (based on digestibility, lack of toxicity, and lack of allergenic potential) for human or animal consumption (Matten, 2000). Regulatory approvals for the use in food and feed of products derived from biotech cotton varieties have been obtained following scientific review in the USA, Japan, Australia, Argentina, South Africa, Mexico, Canada and China (Mainland). In addition, there is no evidence for indirect effects on beneficial species through consumption of Bt intoxicated prey.

MainaGal, Thanks! The kids have been doing so much more for themselves since the remodel was done because now they can reach the things that they need. They all make their own eggs, get the plates out, clean up, make their lunches,fill their own water bottles for sports, etc. It's amazing how putting things within easy reach changed our routines for the better. Since they are still short, I have almost all the dishes low in drawers so that they can unload the dishwasher too (no excuses that they can't reach!). Some of the things I prefer higher and I'll probably move them up as they grow taller. I did forget to plan a place for the dog food though, so it's still in the pantry many steps away from where it should be, oh well. Good luck with your kitchen!

I look on eBay and Etsy for vintage embroidery kits pretty often and I don't recall seeing any Bremen Town Musicians. But you could enter a search on eBay and subscribe to the search terms, so that any listings for "embroidery Bremen" or "embroidery cat donkey chicken" or whatever get emailed to you every day. I've hd some luck finding old patterns that way.

Yup, I used Belcastel pulls in three lengths. I decided to go all pulls, mostly for ergonomics, they're easier to use than knobs - I can open doors/drawers with one finger rather than having to grasp with my entire hand. All uppers were 96 mm, 18" drawers & 15" sink cabinet doors had 128 mm pulls and my 36 & 39" drawers has 160 mm pulls. I used polished nickel for my pulls (my sink is stainless, my faucet brushed nickel, and my appliance handles are stainless.) Here are some photos:
