Probably a climber. I have lots of Fourth of July self seedlings, and they almost always are climbers, just like mom. I haven't registered any of them, though, because I don't think any of them are as good of a rose as Fourth of July. If any of you want to try your hand at germinating rose seeds, Fourth of July is a good one to start with -- easy, peasy to get growing.

Oddly, the two US gardens reporting growing this rose only list this one rose in their garden. One also indicates they desire cuttings of it. And, neither of the two reporting they grow the rose have visited Help Me Find in over a year. It appears importing it would be your only option as it isn't reported as being grown in an public garden in the US and it appears the two private gardens report it in error.

suncitylinda Thank you, Plainsman is one I hadn't run across yet. I have ordered some seed from Sustainable Seed Co. If yours are from Sand Hill would you be interested in exchanging a few seeds to compare the potentially different strains? I am excited to hear about your Porter family variety trial and hope you update often. If you are amenable to selling, trading or sharing some seed from that trial when they become available Please let me know. Mike
