We don't live in Texas nor do we have wet soil to deal with but we do grow some of the plants on your list. Bougainvilleas are frost tender and in zone eight ours dies to the roots every winter. They also are supposed to bloom much better if they are grown on the dry side during thier bloom period. We water ours in spring but then back off on the water once it has vined up from the roots and is ready to bloom. Don't know how well it will bloom with constant moisture and hope you are prepared to chop the spiny dead vines back every winter. Ligustrum is quite large so hopefully you will be able to prune regularly because your space doesn't look very large. We don't grow azaleas as they would hate it here but my understanding is that they like moisture retentive acid soils with good drainage. I know a lot of texas has alkaline soils but maybe not your area? Also hope that with all your moisture you have drainage and the sun isn't too strong for the azalea. We don't have Katie ruellia but the more common R. brittonia which is a bloom factory but it dies to the ground in the winter. Some moisture lovers that you might check out are calla lily (Zantedeschia), Siberian Iris, fiber optics plant (Isolepis).

You could keep him in a drum of some sort, but then you couldn't see him from the sides. Is my conversion correct that a 20L tank is only five gallons? Your blueggill is big and messy, and with his sensitivities, it would be very difficult to maintain consistant and healthy water perameters in such a small space. Especially in a tank that is not established. I seem to remember that your blugill is six or sevn inches long? I'm sorry to say this, but a 5 gallon tank is pretty much a death sentence for any fish smaller than an inch, and any tank that small and unestablished (good bacteria cultures in the filther) is a death sentence for a fish of any size, let alone a sick one! I'd get a 20g (app. 75L) tank. Really. You could maybe get by on a 10g, but I still think that's too small for a fish of that size to get well in. Get some bacterial culture from your fish place and load it into the filter. No amount of medicines or curealls will do your guy any good if he's suffering from burning ammonia. that should work fine for you. Follow the directions on the bottle. You will probably need to re-treat a couple of times to get the ich in all of it's stages of life. Ich is one of those parasites that you can never get rid of completely. Most fish have very low levels of parasites all the time, but because of their immune systems the parasites are kept in check. But if the fish get stressed, the fish has to shift his system resources away from the immune system and over to Stress control. this leaves the fish open to parasite attacks. So whenever your fish undergo a period of stress, it's always a good idea to keep an eye on them for any signs of parasite activity. Ich is one of the easy ones to get rid of.

You know, if it's done right and is used in the service of an appropriate landscape for the site in question, I'm totally okay with sheared hedges. It's the mishmash of formal, informal, and just plain unplanned landscaping you see so much, at least on this side of the big pond, that gives some sheared hedge work a bad name.
