Sean I've only got little boxes instead of the pictures this time. It doesn't normally happen with your pics so is it a problem with me?

I have a smallish pond with a liner, and I realize that is different than your setup, but I needed to do the same thing as you, to cover the liner. Acutally, what I did is quite similar to what you described. Last Saturday I bought a curved pond planter that had holes in its handles on either side. We ran fishing line through the holes and drove in small stakes at the ponds edge, and attached the fishing line to the stakes. It worked well, and the stakes are easily covered with rock. You might want to try the same idea with heavy gauged wire or even old wire hangers to suspend them from the side. Full plants will easily cover the wire. I have also used styrofoam as well as black foam from packing materials, like for computers, and cut holes in their centers to fit plants or small pots. They float, they are free, and they work well. My wee turtles appreciate them, too. Tenroc

I have the same problem as I went to fill the new liner I noticed the back half of my pond is going to be way higher. I am going to be pulling the liner back and digging out that area so I can actually have water there it runs below and does not stay. There is no way for me to level the area without bringing more truck loads of dirt in. I mean truck loads. We live in the country and our property slopes and you have to roll with it at times. I decided to dig back a little more of the ground and make a long plant shelf as well as dig that area a little deeper. I fiqure the plant shelf will disquise the difference in the area. I fiqured I will sat my potted plants right there a nd with rock along the top edges it will work perfect for me.

Our pond is on a slope and we had to build a 40 inch tall cinder block wall on the back side of the pond. We poured concrete footers below the frost line with rebar installed horizontally for added strength. We then used cinderblock for each course of wall. We added rebar vertically every other block and horizontally every other row and filled all block cavities with concrete for added strength. We built pilasters on the back side exterior of the wall for extra strength. We backfilled the wall on the inside of the pond with dirt to create a slope and to relieve some of the water pressure. For the front side of the pond we poured a 12 inch wide footer tying it into the wall with rebar so that the pond is level all the way around. The raised collar in the front prevents runoff water from entering the pond. The cinder block walls are covered with a stone veneer and rocks.

Great! Your cuttings need a lot more light than what will come through the sides. They still have to photosynthesize in order to create the energy they need to make new roots. The leaves are the factories....sunlight is the fuel that keeps those factories in business. No sunlight and the factories will shut down.

Kazzie "nowhere to put it" is that like a woman saying she has nothing to wear.

Mr Mckinney... you obviously have zero understanding of women!!! When we say we have nothing to wear, we mean that we actually have nothing to wear that'll make us look slim and attractive!!! In my case, to date, no clothes shop has been able to meet this need!!!
