If you download the yahoo tool bar, it has a pop up stopper. If you download the msn toolbar (I got mine when I updated messenger) it has a pop up stopper too. Once you have downloaded them, you don't have to have them all the time...just right click on a bare bit of the tool bar or the top of your browser, and check or uncheck them. A place that might be a repository is the Special Collections part of the National Agricultural Library in Beltsville MD. The woman in charge said they had hundreds of plates of plant pictures from J. Horace McFarland, who was the publisher for both plant catalogs (with pictures) as well as the early numbers of The American Rose. (Many of the plates in the American Rose were also advertisements in the American Rose.) A date and publisher of that American Rose would be needed to maybe tie that down. Another thought is that the slide show might have become the basis for the book "Roses of the World in Color"......again by, you guessed it J.
