Bonsai Tomatoes

Well I still don't know why or what happened but I finally pulled all the plants yesterday and threw them away. Sooooooooo disappointed, even more so I guess because I just don't know WHY. Plants green and healthy, roots healthy as well but you would really have thought that they were bonsai specimens - miniature tomato plants. They just didn't grow any bigger than about 15-20 cm, nor did the roots expand. The ones left in pots were exactly the same as those I transplanted into the ground.

So is it too late to plant seedlings if I bought some from wherever? Too late in Melbourne I presume to plant seed and try again? I do have a couple of seedlings coming up of their own accord, probably from the compost I guess.

Maybe I could just offer to swap chillies, garlic & herbs for toms? LOL.

"Tomatoes Lost" - my new novel I think.
