to actually answer your question you can buy several brand computers with xp installed on them instead of Vista if that is what you really want. I was just looking at buy.com and tigerdirect.com and found several listed there that come standard with xp. Also if you choose to go to a site that does custom builds you can pick what ever operating system you want, not all charge you to downgrade, some can come with xp rather than vista you choose your operating system. XP is going to be supported till 2010 is what MS is saying currently, that can change it can be extended no one knows what MS might do. However if you would want to go to Windows 7 when it comes out in about a year just know that you can not do an upgrade from XP to Windows 7 you would have to do a wipe clean and full install of Windows 7. You could check your local area for shops that do custom built computers and get exactly what you want on your pc. Does it make a difference if the material underneath the finish is diecast zinc or forged brass? According to our builder, brushed nickel holds up better than most other finishes, everything being equal. But quality of manufacture is going to be the biggest determinant. Die cast zinc is cheap. Forged brass is not cheap. If the maker is going to the expense of forged brass, the finish will almost certainly be of superior quality.

Hi Linda, Haven't heard of Tasmanian Cream. There is one called Tasmanian Yellow, perhaps it's that under a different name. The regular leaf foliage (the typical serrated edge) is dominant meaning that if you cross a regular leaf plant with a potato leaf plant, for example, the first generation offspring will all be regular leaf. In the second generation you'll get roughly 3/4 regular leaf and 1/4 potato leaf etc, etc. There's really no way to tell a hybrid from any other tomato. Hybrids are the first generation (referred to as F1) after a cross and will usually be pretty uniform. If you planted enough seeds saved from a hybrid (you're into the second generation or F2) it is there that you may start to see differences. Before the discoveries of Mendel became well-known, plant breeding consisted of selecting for desired characteristics. Once people realised they could cross pollinate deliberately, plant breeding took off. Sadly, those forms of plant breeding are all but dead or dying as genetic manipulation takes a strangle hold.

Strange situation. How long ago was this herbicide applied? These could be nothing more that reseeded plants from fruit that was on the original. In other words the original was killed and what you see now is new plants that sprouted from the seeds that fell to the ground. So eat them with no worries. Otherwise how much was applied? The stuff is normally totally lethal to tomato plants so if this was a recent application and the plant is still growing then I agree with Dan that either much was not absorbed, or it was not applied properly, or the product was way outdated. Otherwise the plant would be dead. No question about it. So eat them with no worries. Which begs the question, if you wanted to kill it in the first place why would you want to keep it alive to eat the fruit now? Dave
