Where are the fish coming from?

There are they kept indoors or out of doors? What happened to your old fish?

Indoors sadly. It has been warm all week... everyone out cutting their lawns tonight. My sister and a friend had my old fish... I don't want them back. I was thinking about a few bottom feeders to begin with.

The water temperature into which you introduce your fish needs to be a similar temperature to the one they are living in.
Unfortunately it's much too cold to introduce fish from 'indoors' into your pond at the moment.
May is usually the earliest time to do this. Wait until your local aquatic centre have fish outside.

This ivillage thing is taking its toll on me now... an advert was swimming across the page whilst I was trying to read your thread. Its intrusive... the site needs members (particularly ones who post) in order to make advertising financially viable / effective. I only visit a couple of other pond sites, and this doesn't happen at all. Thinking that I am going to call it a day.

You can close that moving advert, what was it you said, "keep your pecker up"

how long has your water been in the pond?.

u come from the same area of the uk as i do.

my pond temps been up to 16c yesterday so plenty warm to allow fish as long as u float them in a bag of water for 20 mins or so, the water becomes the same temp as the pond then allow them to swim.

these must be outdoor fish as u know.

ref the ad,s if admin hopefuly will read this to many ad,s u r losing the site good ponder,s please @ least stop the one,s that fly over the screen please.

The water has been in the pond since last November.

As for the adverts... I told my son about the problem (I'm useless with knowing what's ok to download). Anyway... I tried to demonstrate to him the problem with this site, and blow me... no floating nor movie type ads appeared! Hopefully, they've aborted this idea.

if the waters been in there since november this should be fine.

my pond temp up around 50f-52f just remember to float them first.

the fish will be ok because if u think most cold water fish r breed in greenhouse condiction and even when u buy them from a centre normerly there indoors where the water temps r near or the same as the air temp.

the season of introducing fish to a pond is from about april/may time to sept time.
but with the weather as it is is there a good or bad time we had 70f on friday come sunday 52f ???????????.
