Ha! "Lugubrious" ! I had to look that one up! Chelone, you bring new words to my vocabulary frequently. LOL I like 'words' so that is good, and it rolls off the tongue nicely. ;-) When I got up this mornng I was more flexible than 'normal' (probably due to the 2 sessions of meds...one before bedtime, and one at 4 AM). As I was washing up before preparing breakfast, my mind went back to my childhood and how I greeted the morning with anticipation and joy. I recalled how , as a small girl, I would arise after mama was up, and slip out the side door to go around to the front door and knock! I don't think I did it very often [I hope not, :-)]. I don't recall mama getting upset at me, so it must not been very often. Anyhoo...how I would love to be able to greet the day with such a childish anticipation. Pm2, I accepted your announcement with no doubt that it was true. Such a thought never entered my mind. :-) Ah yes...I should have known it is a lupine. I love them but they will not grow here. I think it is because our soil is too acid. Ei was so kind in sending me a lot of her saved seed. They came up nicely, but soon expired without blooming. It sounds as though you have too many health woes to cope with, without having to be burdened with mine also! It is true....most everyone has their aches and pains....they are just differant, and (hopefully) not permanent. I guess I ought to check out my magnesium level? I do love nuts, but have to be careful how many and what kind I eat because of my gallbladder. :-( I have been known to tell my friends that I am defective merchandise, and need to be returned to the factory! Saucy, I wish I had had the presence of mind to use a fake email address for facebook. I guess I was just too gullible. I wish I knew how to eliminate all the trash email I am getting, without changing my address. As for using a phoney address, how would you know it wasn't someone else's? Since I am registered there, and am apparently stuck with it, maybe I ought to check it out. It apparently does have things of interest connected with it?? Tee hee, Marie, occasionally my bed has to wait to be made because Tommy is on it, but that is okay, I have become rather slack at getting to it anyway. That is a good looking group of kitties. The one in the middle looks a little annoyed. :-) I do not think I could tolerate a cat drooling in my ear! Tommy prefers to cuddle up to my back. I like that. Thank goodness, no skunks in our house, but Nolon used to see one in his shop. It was 'tame' and never a problem. Since Calliecat is gone there is no longer food out there, so no attraction for 'visitors'. Mary, thanks for your approval of linking. :-) I haven't checked out yours, but hope to soon. I love classical music, and have several albums. I had a bad bout with moths a few years ago. I did use the moth traps, and have been free of them for some time. I usually put flours and other foods that attract them in the freezer, but have not used that freezer since our icestorm. Fruit flies and tiny ants are what are plaguing me now. The fruit flies have not been bad so far this year. I make a trap for them, with cider vinegar in it. Kathy, sorry about your bad dream, and oversleeping, but happy that you got understanding from my links. As for moving my plants out, it will not be until the end of this month. I'd rather be late doing it than too early. It isn't likely Tim will be here at that time. Ha! I didn't think of Fred Flintstone or George Jetson....I thought of Star Trek. ( I was always a Star Trek fan.) We are awaiting another round of rain, with chilly weather. Poor Nolon may not be able to get to his wood cutting , and that is hard on both of us! Marian

Raeanne~I swear I thought about you all day on your birthday but I haven't been on the computer. I'm so excited that you are going to get to see Bette Middler. That would be something I would like to do! NH Suzanne~WTG on meeting your goal. And, since when have you ever bored us with a story about your riding adventures? Jen~I'm saying prayers for the girls. Congrats on losing the 7 pounds. Amy~My parents are planning a trip to the big island soon. I don't know when it is going to be yet. Maddie~[[[[ H U G S ]]]] Congratulations on selling your jewelry. BJ~Please listen & take it easy. Everyone here means well but I know that you already know that. Hi to John, Besh, Susie_que, Kathy, Joanne, Gretchen, & KY Susie. Also anyone else that I missed. Dave's surgery went well. They didn't clean it at all though & did not put a bandage on it. Now you can see how the Veterans are treated! Anyway, we have laughed about it being a face lift. It hurt him to laugh or smile & I tried so hard to be good but he ended up laughing & smiling until it didn't hurt him anymore. He says that he was trying to clean it & a stitch came out. Hmmm... We have 2 weeks from today until his papers have to be in to the VA. (I'm hoping that we make the deadline. If not, let's just say that we have lost the past 4 years of work.) Well, I'm off to eat some salmon. BJ~I wish that I lived near you where we could go to the market & get it fresh. Yum. Patti :)

Good morning. It's already 72 degrees here and heading up to 85. Sunny, too! Welcome, Dody and Groomingal! This is a great place to come for support, for weight loss and other things. I'm heading out in a few minutes to do my weekly grocery shopping. I keep a running list all week on my computer, so that by Friday morning, I'm ready to print it and go. I never used to be quite this organized until I started on Weight Watchers this time. It really keeps me in line to know exactly what there is to fix and eat. I'm still cooking every evening, and so far, most of the recent attempts have been successful! QOD: No plans so far. We did so much running around last weekend, and hubby is taking it easy this week but still going in to work after having a heart cath on Monday. So, he'll probably just want to lie around and watch tv. Thanks for the good thoughts for Aubrie. I'm really proud of my Dson and DDIL for remaining so calm about things so far. That's also the reason I was so happy to keep the girls for them Easter weekend while they go visit my other son and DDIL for a nice distraction. And, it has nothing to do with the fact that I LOVE being with my granddaughters! LOL McPeg, I had cabin fever yesterday, too. It was very overcast here and it just made me feel so gloomy. I'm thankful for the sun today! Have a great weekend, everyone!

Good morning goils-- Yes, I am among the living, and have missed you all like crazy!!! I have finally gotten a computer for me at home (I can't log on at work, and trying to get to the library is close to impossible!)So, I get to check my emails, and play on here to my heart's content-- Life is good, but so swamped. The company that I work for is a division of a larger corp, and the women that started it are wanting to separate from the main company and run it themselves. Since I am the financial guru, I've been putting in 80 hours weeks since January, and there is no end in sight. I am in the interviewing process for software vendors/tech support, and I am in over my head on this, as I am so not good with computers. However, since the accounting/HR software will make or break my working life, I want to be in on the discussions. One of the CPAs is giving me a fit, but apparently she was like this to my predecessor (which was a big factor in her leaving), but I just won't take it and roll over. We spent an hour on the phone yesterday day about something she screwed up with our AP, which resulted in us almost getting a utility cut-off in one of our group homes. My boss told me to put the bills on the company credit card because we didn't have much choice, and I did (I paid the bill through our weekly AP; corp screwed up the payment; we don't know where the check actually went to; and the utility was due to be shut off on this past Monday. I never heard a peep from corp until yesterday morning (Thursday) when she called b!tching that she has spent all of this time (?? wtf?)working on this issue, and then found out that I had put it on a CC. Alrighy, the the games begin....) I'll be glad to get rid of that insufferable cow. I'm still auctioning; we have one tomorrow. It's huge, but I'm tired, and not looking forward to it. Well, kinda--I just know it's going to be a loooong day. Well, I've lost 15 pounds since the beginning of February, and I am down about 25 pounds from my highest known weight. I bought a pair of jeans last fall that fit a bit loose, but now I can pull them down over my hips without unzipping 'em. My BIL is getting married on Memorial Day weekend (well, the last I heard), and I want to be down about 15 more pounds. (I'm trying to be realistic here). Let's see--I am trying to buy a car. Good Grief. What happened to car prices? I haven't bought one since '96 (Rog got the truck in '01), but geeze louise--10 years car loans? Why?! I'm looking at a used Camry because I want to pay cash (I hate car payments wit ha passion), but I just laugh at some of the prices. (No, I don't want to buy the real estate that the lot is on, I just want to buy a car.) I may have found one, but it's white (which is the one color I specifically did not want), and with this work schedule, I can't get up to the dealer to see it. Rog's cousin owns a dealership (yep--more $$$ than above, and a nice guy to boot), but for some inane, really stupid reason, hubster doesn't want to go to him. (It was OK to see cousin when *he* wanted the truck, but ohhhhnooooo, we can't go when *I* want a car. Go figure.) Hope this finds everyone well--happy birthday Patti! The Elegant Gathering of White Snows is about a group of women who just start walking east(I think-maybe west...)-leaving family, home, jobs and friends behind...within 24 hours they are national news, have their own tame police escort driving at 4 mph behind them, people coming out to the roadside to welcome them with joy, food, drink and offers of overnight accomodations, husbands gallantly assuming all household and childrearing chores with no complaints, and their teenage daughters driving alongside praising them for their adventure. That is where my bookclub really lost it...none of us could imagine our children saying anything but "when's dinner, where are my soccer cleats, and is the laundry done?"
We hated the book, bye the bye. Even as an allegory it was ridiculous.
