No, don't bring it in. It will hatch too fast and then you will have the dilemma that the pond is still too cold to put the tads back into.
I would suggest watching the weather, and if it is due to freeze, either push it into deeper water so it would be beneath the ice, or put a washing up bowl or similar over the top.

Found another clump yesterday and today I've seen the pond water splashing about from the kitchen window, so I guess there's more to come. Funny thing is it's all on top of the Parrots Feather. The top always dies back to water level over the winter and the frogs often lay their spawn on top of it.

Before I could protect the frogspawn, I had to rush home to Liverpool because my Mum was ill. When I briefly returned, all the frogspawn had been killed off by the cold. A small amount has since been laid in the same place, so it remains to be seen whether I get taddies this year or not.

I hope your mum is now fully recovered. Last week I had 48 frogs return to my pond. (t least thats how many I could count there may have been more in the depths) They have laid more spawn than ever this year. I put in a very small prefab pond last spring to keep some spawn in as the main pond also has a lot of hungry fish in and I wanted to be able to guarantee some survival of my frogs. This year I found 12 frogs in it producing spawn along with those in the main pond. I am thrilled about this. I may not have to transfer any from the main pond. This looks like my best year ever so I hope many survive. They have laid on every available clump of plants even in the small one in the middle of the pond. I have heard that if frogs lay spawn in the middle of a pond it is going to be a hot summer. We will have to wait and see if that is the case. I just think they wanted to use the plant in the middle.

I have never heard that about laying in the middle of the pond. I just thought it depended on where the pond plants are near enough to the surface. Mine laid further into the pond, but I thought it was so it was out of reach of the cat that tried to eat it last year.

I took the grandchildren to Lotherton Hall today. They have an oblong formal pond in the grounds but it looked terrible today. The plants in the middle were just starting to come up and there was a clump of frogspawn there but nothing compared to usual. There were two pairs of toads mating and another toad on his lonesome, a couple of newts and some baby fish but the water was so murky it was hard to see anything.

Now I really do believe in cryogenics (if that's the correct spelling!) All the frogspawn that I thought had died and turned to mush appears to have hatched out! The water around the parrot's feather looked like it was shivering, but it was loads of tiny taddies, so I've rescued some and put them into my pedalbin liner. The rest I'm leaving to their own devices and hope they escape the jaws of the pond. Can't believe I'll get some baby frogs after all!
