Kristy, that sounds great. I just talked to Gary, and he will do a brisket, I will make the sides, and we can all eat at our house. It is beautiful in October, with all the hummingbirds. We have hugh oak trees, so our place is just full of them. I would love to trade plants in person with you and Kylie, this is like a dream come true, to meet all of you. Linda, lives just down the street, on Copano Bay, she is usually post here and also on Gardening in Texas, she has a beautiful yard full of herbs and tropicals, she is into orchids. Her neighbor is Billy, she has a hugh shade yard, right on the bay, she has plants I have never seen before, and she loves to trade plants. I will check to see if the guy who sells desert roses at the farmers market will be down that Saturday, you will not believe the beautiful desert roses you can buy for $5 to $10 each, he has so many diffrent colors to choose from. Gary has a collections of them in is Island bed, they are just beautiful. He also sells a plant that grows in the trees, they are just beautiful, I forgot the name, but is is a form of bromaliad, they do not freese in Rockport. The bromaliad plants do freeze but these do not. I can take you and Kylie to to Turners Nursery, to check out their oleanders, Jim, just posted he just brought some of their plants. Not only is he English, but he has the most amazing English Cottage Garden in town!!! I was driving by one day and it is so beautiful I pulled over and opened my car window...only to be carried away with the delightful scents from his garden...and there he was working away...so I asked him about his yard and he gave me a tour....then told me about the horticultural club...he has given me plants/advice/pots and such...just a great guy!!! G-Guy, I got those Stella's from Ebay two years ago. They were planted behind that Miscanthus "Varigatus" in the far back bed while they got "bigger" and then I moved 6 of them up front here this spring. Here's a photo of where they used to be. The middle bed has a M.S. "Zebrinus" behind the birdbath (you can see it's previous location next to the Stella's. It's taken off this year now in full sun)... ..and the far back bed has a M.s. "Purpenscens" and a M.s. "Varigatus" Here's a photo of those from closer up. This was in 2005: And here they are in August this year. the Flame Grass is now a beautiful bronze/orange and full of plumes By the way, the newly found "suprise grass" isn't much smaller than the new "Hamlin" in the photo above. I planted in front of the Flame grass about a month ago. Blackie
