Can anyone ID these post fire regen plant please?

Hi guys I am new to the forum and would love a hand in identifying this plant. It is growing in the bush in post fire regen nd sems to be browsed by both wallabies and deer, and I havn't seen it before the fires.

Wattle, Grevillea, Hakea? A genus and species would be great!

Hi Rob,
first look at it I thought legume.
Flowering Plants in Australia, ISBN0 7270 1477 3, page 150, under Caesalpinioideae, fig 92b, shows something similar from WA, cassia notabilis.
Cassia search for Vic, gives a Cassia species as a weed. Cassia fistula, Golden showers, which is still and was a popular street tree planting in main street renovations in the 1990's to 2000's.
That's my best lead for you, good luck on your search.

Sam, Clement, Resin and bboy, thank you very much for your answers. All three P. menziesii should be of almost exactly the same age. Is it a possibility that genetic variances between them caused one's bark to mature faster? It is quite likely that the third one is P. pinaster since that tree used to be planted on small scale for forestry around where I live. Thank you for the compliment, Sam. :) Taxus baccata is a conifer which is wild growing here anywhere; presumably because of its extensive use for hedges. Close to the one I found were numerous "normal" (single coloured, dark green ones) so this one catched my eye immediately. The first pic is variegated Pachira aqautica's. First i've seen of them. Surrounded by Pleranda dizzygotheca and I think a Pisonia variegated looking like a Ficus back there. Next group is like said Monodinium and a nice Haworthia with plump leaves. The hanger is some kind of Huperzia,clubmoss and I think they put a Nepenthes in with it. Nepenthes is a pitcher plant. Third from last grouping is a Cycad of some type with a Ficus palmeri with twisted white trunk behind it and assorted Schefflera's.

It's not Cassia fistula.
I'm no native expert, but it looks something weedy, I have come back to the photo a few times without any real ideas.
Could you contact the DPI or equivalent in Vic - or landcare groups?

Looks like Indigofera australis (native) should have purple flowers at the moment. Hard to tell from pic
