It would be nice to "support" my local nursery when it comes to Clematis..but around here..I can't hardly find any...Lowe's, Walmart have those itty bitty orange pots of them from Roseville..I've had success with those but they don't even compare to the Ones I've bought from Dan,Debbie,Murray or Chad..I would rather pay $16.00+ for a well rooted clematis from any of them for something I really really just gotta have!!..It's really strange when I go to the nurseries for they call me the clematis lady..from all the times I've asked if they have any or when will they get some or can I talk to the manager to ask if they'll add them to their inventory..I was SO SHOCKED this year...I saw Lowe's had ONE-GALLON clematis but to my dismay..they were one's I had...I did pay 10bucks for a one-gallon "Snow Queen" that my climbing rosa "Don Juan" asked me to pick up for him..I think they shall be divine together!!...Jeanne

I'm fairly confident about these (seems almost textbook; right at the base of an oak in November) but with wild mushrooms you can't be too careful, right? I'm not kicking it; just put my (size 9.5/10) foot in there to show scale. If the photo composition isn't the best, please keep in mind it was shot in total darkness! It may be asking too much but I'm hoping for confirmation before breakfast.

Hazel, well I wrote a follow up to your post but goodness knows where it has gone...it isn't here!! So here we go again..... Will keep a close eye on the casalpinas and will start some more...just in case!! Didn't know you had adeniums also, yours sound interesting...any pics? Have you grown them from seed? My last seasons original is still with us, a bit defoliated, but alive. This seasons babies from seed are growing strongly and now have couple of sets of leaves each. Hope thet fatten up. Guess you adenium tops were already programmed to flower and did soon after rooting (like my celadine was that first year it rooted).....even though you gave them away!! Fetched a load of compost yesterday..A Bowers again, seems to work fine for me, can't wait to get potting on this afternoon. Will re-pot the 4 plumie seedlings, they need some bigger pots this year... Celadine will just need fresh compost in same pot as it has no branches still just the single stem. The seedlings, well 3 of them grew branches soon after sprouting last spring so it will be interesting to see what they do this year..not expecting flowers obviously at this early stage, but wonder if branches will continue to grow? Celadine lost all leaves as did 1 seedling, the other 3 held onto the majority of theirs, they look a bit floppy though and not very green now. Cheers, Gill.

Looks like botrytis to me, often found on already dead and decaying plant material. I'm afraid my advise is basic, in other words, it's down to 'good housekeeping'. So, you need to remove all dead stems, leaves etc as soon as they die off and as I've never sprayed or treated for it, sorry I can suggest any further. Dampness will cause it to grow btw. The first pic looks like penicillin mould with that turquoise colour. Gill
