leucopogon

Hi every one,

IÂm looking for some information on the Genera Leucopogon, not any in particular species just general summary of why they are called Leucopogon, I am not having much luck been to libraries and local herbarium, but no one can tell me the specifics of it!

Any links of any kind would be helpfull, or any books that I could purchase!

    Leah, just do a Google search for Leucopogon, and there will be lots of information.

    Hi Leah, florabase has quite a few varieties of leocopogon listed as well as a wealth of info on native plants of WA

    Leukon = white. pogon = beard (flower tube).

    The Genera Leucopogon are commonly called the Beard Heaths. The inner suface of the flower tube in nearly all Leucopogons is bearded and densly wooly.

    I hope that's what you were after.

    I managed to get hold of a specialist in the genus Leucopogon and he helped me immensely.
