Stone, those are sweet looking little pigs. Recently Countryside magazine ran a very informative article about this Aussie breed. I found it very interesting esp. in view of their enormous size. I congratulate you on helping to maintain this rare breed. Because of their size I would never have this breed on my farm. Can only imagine the size of their wallows and the types of fences/housing necessary to contain them. My father built a nice, big barn when I was a little girl....that barn collapsed due to hogs (of the usual size) undermining its foundation. Secondly, the propensity for boar hogs to become aggressive would keep this animal far, far from my place. Had a distant relative killed by a hog that he raised when he went out to the pen to feed and was caught in a corner by his boar. His family found him disemboweled and hanging half way through the fence where he had attempted to escape. That was from a typically sized hog not the chest high variety (seven or eight feet in length) that these cute little pigs will grow into. Good luck with your unusual hogs. Judy

Gramma Jan, I bought an Ivory Necklace with 25 eyes and put it in the corner of a raised bed (diamond shaped). Being unexperienced, I didn't realize how large 25 pips would become when they were unfurled. It didn't take long for it to crowd out the one I had in the middle. I took it out and put it in front of a pretty large Guacamole. Now, it looks short and "flat" not nearly as pretty as it did in the raised bed. Another example is Pilgrim. Pilgrim looked flat, dull, and rather boring to me in the ground (plus the slugs loved it). It seemed to "come to life" in the raised bed. Summer Music and Fragrant Blue are ones that I'm going to move into the German style garden were building right now (all raised beds). Both of them just look dull and flat too. I've found that if I can't seem to got a good picture of it in the ground, that it's probably a good candidate for a raised bed. Gesila

Hi Alexa, I have a few hostas that came with growers tags that are wrong. I have no idea what my Zounds-not really is. My Mack the Knife looks like the photos in the HL, however. You and Papou have Mack's with narrower leaves, which would seem more appropriate, considering the name. Maybe the leaves get wider with age? Like LS Kaleidoscope and Wolverine, for example.

Thanks Roy & lomatia, I looked up A. terminalis on the Aust Plant Image Index website that justcorreas suggested above and by the picture of the flowers and leaves it looks like you two are on the button. The somewhat dark green of the leaves contributes as well as their form and the flowers. I'll check out the Kuranga catalogue Mt Evelyn Vic and see if they have it otherwise I guess as I mentioned above, it will be seed collection. I know you can't collect seed from National Parks, but there are lots of the bushes just outside the Flora park. Thanks for all the help identifying this wattle
