Nice display. However, I would be concerned about all those narrow branch angles converging near one another. Locusts can be quite brittle.

You might want to look at cankers and root rot for honeylocusts. I don't have much experience with honey locust but cankers can cause the open dead spots on trunks and branches, and I see sprouts coming straight off the main trunk, that's usually a bad sign on a tree that hasn't been pruned lately. I can't see the pic all that well at the moment because sun is beaming through the window and making it hard to see anything but unless the tree looks like it's going to fall on a structure I'd give it a few years. It will start to grow some branches on that side now that it has some sunlight there. Some pruning may be helpful. It usually is with honeylocusts as they tend to need some cleanup to improve branch structure. You would want to call out an experienced and reputable certified arborist for recommendations.

You have worms. Those little cocoons are eggs. If you uncurl the leaves you will see little tiny white worms. They will eventually kill all your leaves. You need to buy a systemic. I bought Bayer but it was kind of expensive about 26.00 but it is concentrated and I still have enough for another year or so. Any systemic will do. It comes up through the trunk and into the leaves killing all the worms. Following the directions you mix it in a bucket with water and pour it around the tree staying the appropriate distance from the trunk. You usually only have to apply it once a year. I did this 2 yrs and this year I don't have any worms. A systemic is time released and worked great for me.
