Gumnut Request

Hi there everyone. This may seem a little odd but here goes. About a month ago i was travelling in WA and found some gumnuts that were magnificant. Big and quite rounded in shape - average of 4-5cm x 2-3cm, brown to grey in colour. I am using them for jewellery but quickly running out. Does anyone know where i can get some more, or indeed how i can find out the name of this variety of gum?

Have checked Sydney Flemington Flower Market but no luck.

Would be most appreciated.

    Probably Eucalyptus macrocarpa- the largest euc. seed pod. Crafty seed pod supply places will probably stock them.

    but I recall macrocarpa's seed pod to be squarish. might have been a corymbia (perhaps ficafolia).

    Nindethana seeds sells seed pods for craft stuff.

    Nope! Em, are they almost bowl-shaped? If so, they are most likely macrocarpa.

    There's an image at the link below that shows the top half of the seed pod. The bottom half is fairly, well..... bowl-shaped.
