They showed this beautiful shrub on last weeks GA in an absolutely stunning coastal garden. It is supposedf to grow only to 1m so I do not think it should have invasive roots.

Thanks for the reply. I did see Metrosideros Tahiti on GA and it is a lovely plant. Like you say at 1m high it shouldn't have invasive roots so think I will plant one.

I planted a hedge of Fiji Fire about 5 years ago and it has never flowered.

We have a 25m long hedge of a Fiji Fire variant called "Metrosideros Little Dugald". Ours flowers probably 4 to 5 times a year. It also cops the western sun daily and is tough as nails it seems.

It's planted along a retaining wall at the base - no dramas so far with roots.
