Dee, I do mean morning glories in pots. I've put them in hanging pots to vine down and in 8, 10 and 12 inch pots on the ground. I've rigged some very unfancy and cheap things for them to climb on out of wire coat hangers from the dry cleaner and twine. Didn't look to great until the vines started wrapping around them, but it worked. I have about 80 different kinds of morning glory vines I started with WS and have room for only about 50 on my chain link fence and have 4 on an arbor. The rest get the pot treatment and it works well. Also do moon vines in pots too. Don't count on more time with only one kid at home. I thought the same thing when #1 went off to college. Little sister was 5 years behind. No such luck. I sware I ran more with only 1 at home than with 2. She was involved in far more things than big brother so it was always on the go. Time finally came when both where off to college. By then, one was in law school and one was in undergrad. Problem then was once I got used to both gone, it was either a college break for number 2 and she was home again or it was holiday time and everyone was here. Both are sort of gone now. Oldest lives down south so don't see him a lot and youngest one lives about 25 miles away in an apartment. Course she chose to teach in her home town, for the past 2 years so guess who would just pop in every other day and empty the fridge? Yup, you guessed it. she's moving on to a new school system further away from home, but close enough to "go out of her way to come say hello". Don't forget the "Mom, I need your help" kind of thing. Like this past week, I get a call from DD, "Mom, what are you doing next Monday?" "What do you need sweetie". "Well I'm going to have all 4 of my impacted wisdom teeth pulled Monday morning at 10AM. You know, the guy down the street and I will need someone to come get me after they are pulled." "OK that's not a problem, but all 4 cut and dug out an one time? Doesn't sound like a good idea." "Well, if I get them all done at once, well, um, ah, um, ah, well, you know, it's right down the street from you and I can come stay with you and you can take care of me for a week." dead silence on my part. "Mom, are you there? Mom, I really need your help and you are so good at taking care of sick people and people that are in pain and sick. Mom, you make the best warm chicken soup, no lump oatmeal and you know how to heat stuff up to the perfect temps for sore aching mouths to swallow. Come on Mom, you are the best and everyone knows you are, Mom. Thanks for the help, I love you. talk to you later." No chance to say anything, and of course she knew I wouldn't say no. Great pics! Your yard looks really incredible, I see lots of nice new plants and old ones doing great too. Congrats on your book, I'll have to download it onto my kindle and take a look at it! The summer poinsettias look really cool! I've never seen them used in a landscape before like that, and I think it's an amazing look! How did you grow them to that size?
