Hi there.... I have mimosa tree seeds (Albizia-julibrissin) and a bunch of seedlings if you would like them. Let me know.

We had a carrotwood tree in the front of our yard in a previous home. It dropped huge amounts, hundreds and hundreds, of seed pods and seeds everywhere. The seeds were sticky and stuck all over pavement, cars, etc. and were very hard to sweep or even rake up. The pods are hard and sharp edged, you don't want to accidentally step on one in bare feet. There may be some varieties that are sterile but I would say that the tree in my yard was very, very messy.

I have Acacia farnesiana seed for somebody that messages me.

Just to clarify, we installed the new garden in December. All of the plants started from the same container size (2.5 g?). I have enclosed photographs of the one best (the way the plant should look) and worst worst of the bunch. You can see the dropped and browned leaves. After probing the soil under the plant, I determined today that the worst ones were the soil was the most moist. In fact, today was the watering day (3 day interval), and before watering the soil was already quite moist on the plants that look the worst. I am wondering if the fact that the troubled plants are in more sun has been tricking me to believing that there isn't enough water. The reverse may be true. Maybe you can tell me if this makes sense: 1. The acacias are throughout the yard. But a large part of the yard is planted over an area where a swimming pool was removed, so that area has completely imported soil, which probably is more clay, less well draining. 2. Many of the those plants are ALSO close to young trees that were planted. All of the trees are on a 7 day watering interval with bubblers, and they are getting a ton of water to establish them. I am thinking that in this clay soil, water is moving laterally away from the trees to the neighboring plants, giving them an extra watering day every week. 3. The garden is very heavily mulched with cardboard under the mulch where there are no plants. So I think that water is staying around quite awhile, even though we have had some very warm days in the last couple weeks. Am I drowning the plants? Is it possible that the clay soil (amended for drainage but maybe not enough) combined with the watering environment described above is just too much wetness for these plants? If so, is a solution to take them off the drip system and only water them when I measure the rootball going on the dry side? At this point, I am afraid to remove the plants and replant after better amending the soil for drainage, but it they continue to decline, would this be the next step? Thanks so much.
