How is the mosquito fabric working for ya ? my thought, is if it is too thin and stretched tight on the fruit, then, it is possible that they could sting through it. also, it might not deter larger rodents or squirrels that might be able to claw through it ? i have never had problems with wasps (knock on wood) squirrels and birds are my problem. i normally keep several trees, so if they get 1 or 2 fruit, its no big deal. its when i only have 3 ripe ones, and they take one bite out of each that ticks me off :) ive used paper bags before, works good except you cant see the color of the fruit to know when its time to pick, kind of a pain, but they work.

Someone told me that here in Perth the department of agriculture has a responsibility to provide fruit bates for every fruit tree that you have as a means of controlling pests, I haven't been able to get through to anyone yet to find out if this is true ? Does anyone know?

hi i would like to trade or sase for some flying dragon seeds. i might have some ornamental peppers somewhere, i know i have some pepper seeds, but i would have to check through my stash. i have some freshly harvested shishito pepper seeds, i wouldnt call that one ornamental - but it is yummy. anywho i do have a large trade list posted HERE, or could do a sase, or rather a sasbe, if thats what you want.

I have to watch out for fruit flies, too. In the long harvest season, I always have baskets of fresh picked veggies on the counter, either from my gardens or other's. I've found that wrapping my individual tomatoes (for example) in newspaper or paper towels will protect them from fruitflies and over ripening. I have a couple of small jars filled with a solution of apple cider vinegar, water, and dish detergent to trap any fruitflies. Trap and release fruit flies, lololol. Don't do it, Alisande! Fruit flies are like plant vermin.....trap and release rats or cockroaches.
