Purple Bush With Purple Flowers ?

Hi All,

Please can someone help me with identifying the attached bush. It has small green leaves and purple flowers. It is in full sun in my front yard used as a hedge and 2 have died. I'd love to be able to replace them but have no idea what they are.

It looks a bit like Duranta repens (or maybe a light form of Duranta "geisha girl"). Take a small branch of fresh leaves and a couple of flowers with the buds to a nursery for confirmation (you don't have to buy at the first place!!!!!) if I'm right you should be able to find them at markets, Bunnings etc.
Happy to be corrected though if anyone else looks in

If it has orange berries on it in the fall and winter, then I agree it is a Duranta. I have 2 in my yard that get so big I trim them back to about a foot tall yearly and they came back with even more vigor, it seems. I live on the Gulf coast of Florida and they grow great. A small cutting should tell which Duranta it is but if your nursery doesn't know let me know and I'll check with my source, but I do need to know about the berries.

Spirea, one of the small gold-foliaged varieties. It may have really nice true gold and orange fall color. IME they can be cut to the ground at any time and they will resprout, though if I am going to do it I usually do it early spring.

Thanks for the replies lazy, mammie, and rox. I think it might be a Veronica of some sort after googling the other plants. I'm still not 100% sure on that though. Here is a up close leaf shot if it helps to confirm it is in fact a sort of Veronica plant.

If the flowers have a nice scent it could be brunsfelsia, 'Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow' but they (brunsfelsia)
certainly do not have orange berries.

I have a yesterday, today and tomorrow and this is not it. The flowers on it are purple and white when in full bloom and are bigger than what the picture shows which looks like the size of the Duranta bush as well as the leaves size and color.

Thanks so much guys. Apparently it's definitely a sheenas gold Duranta and I must have been to about 20 shops to find a large one (above 1 metre to fill the gap in the hedge) :(. Have tried binning a markets nurseries...even posted an ad on gumtree but no luck whatsoever. One nursery offered to ring around but gave up. I live on a busy road and is such a shame to have a gap right in the middle.....grrr. Thank you all for responding....just wish I could find one now...... :)
