have: have [melb]: rocoto chilli plants with fruit

Hey there!

These chillies are amazing in Melbourne - they grow and fruit happily through winter (well, mine are) and live for many years, grow quite large, and can produce 20kg of fruit per plant. I got over-excited about this chilli and grew heaps of them - much more than I can eat. Happy to trade for anything interesting (and edible).

In particular, I'd be keen on the following:

Miracle fruit

Fruit trees (quince/medlar/apple/etc)

Anything unusual

Hello Mike, I would love to try rocoto chillies! Would you like to swap for a rooted piece of thornless american loganberry, or a rooted cutting of the best fruiting cereus that I have ever tasted (a kiwifruit/strawberry taste) All the best, Jus.

Hi,

would it be possible to grow the chillies from their seeds? If so, are you interested in swapping them for organic annual vegetable seeds? I love chillies, the hotter the better :-)

It has been my experience that rocotos don't yield very much at all until their 2nd season [3rd they REALLY pump out the peppers]

Hi Paradisi .. I would love to have some of those black chilli seeds if they are still on offer. I have some seeds i have collected but dont know how viable they are as I havent had a proper garden for a couple of years. we have a multitude of plants in the garden now so if there is anythign you are looking for ask and I will see if I can find them for you cheers pixiemb

Hey all, These are grown from cuttings from a parent with good quality fruit. Very healthy - about 10-15cm high. Grows very fast and will form a big bush and fruit in the first season. Looking to trade for any fruit plants (especially unusual ones) or other ethnobotanically interesting specimens. Hi Mike, I would love to have a couple of seedlings of your tree chilli, I live in Melbourne and can pick then up in the metro. To offer in return, I have rockmelon seedlings, Curry leaf seedlings (around 6-8 cms high).
